I really liked this game, the setting, the emotions, the characters. The ending really sucked the fun out of the game for me (or perhaps lack of an ending).

I got a cassette from the man inside the helicopter and then the helicopter go away leaving me there. Was a third ending?

The saddest thing about this ending? If Henry died, Delilah would’ve likely never known.

ngl i was expecting some epic fight to the death with Ned, then running away with Delilah at the end. But this feels more. . . . grounded.

This isn't an alternate ending.
Either Henry gets on the heli and they leave or the heli leaves without Henry.
Both lead to the same ending.
Therefore there is no "alternate" ending.

Interesting game but the amount of poor mechanics mixed with the shitty ending really ruined it for me. I wasn’t expecting the ending to be something mind blowing I just wish there was a little more depth to it or show us at least D and him meeting.

I fell in love with Delilah even though the story was so short, and I never saw her...

This ending is Henry becoming the new Ned. Just like Ned, he can't face his problems so he secludes himself here to run away from them.

I imagined a deranged killer, a government conspiracy, or aliens. So yeah, the ending was rubbish.

All the folks that thought the ending was "disappointing", that's kind of the point.

Really disappointed by the ending.

I was at least expecting Ned to stand above me during a climb and just cut my rope and immobilize me so I am left to die in the fire for knowing too much. This ending just left you blue balled considering all the high tech monitoring stuff you found and the charming romance growing between Hank and Delilah. To have it resolve into something like that doesn't feel ambigious, it just doesn't feel like an ending at all.

Dang it, first time playing the game (never got spoiled either). Was hyped about meating her in the end, which I obviously didn't.. fuck it I was disappointed. Oh well, after the radiocall was over I snatched the image she drew of me and that bottle of tequila.

I'm not mad at the fact that there is no conspiracy plot involved but not having an alternate ending based on how you talked to Delilah is inexcusable. "This is like real life". Well, In real life your words matter. A lot. That's just bullshit. This is a game based on decisions and they took away the most important path. It's like making a platform game without jumps for whatever reason.

Unpopular opinion incoming: I like the idea of adding this alternate ending. It suggests that Henry wants to die. His wife is irreversibly ill, he went through a lot of bad shit in the forest, saw a dead kid and finally the only hope for him left him behind with no immediate plans of meeting him... It gives us a chance to succumb to his suffering.

Just finished playing the game, great story. I love the whole mystery behind it, as well as the sadness and the reactions make you feel there at that time. Anybody else looking up when they rappel to see if Ned would just pop his head out haha?! Just wish we could of met Delilah, just a different ending. Even in the credits the pictures scrolling by, Henry and Delilah of what happend after that summer would of been cool. Mayham Jr was saved.

Important (obvious) reminder: THEY wrote the damn story, so, if they want it to end like that, so be it. It's their work, not yours. If you didn't like or were unsatisfied by the ending, doesn't means it's necessarily bad. It's a sad hollow ending - yeah, they exist, you know? (despite 95% of the games showing otherwise).
