ОтветитьYour song rise above, do u have a recording or video of it for me to watch and listen? What tuning are u in? Great videos, been watching them all day
ОтветитьWorth doing.
ОтветитьWonderful. Entranced
ОтветитьSo i gotta ask: not even toilet paper?
ОтветитьSuperb. Thank you!
ОтветитьThat looks like something I would enjoy doing, but even if Hell froze over I still wouldn't leave my boots behind!!!
ОтветитьI'm a minimalist cross-country runner over the pond. I've been running in the woods and climbing mountains in minimalist footwear for about 10 years; you know those foot gloves that weird people out, the 'running sandals' from that guy who wrote about the natives in Mexico (Born to Run), and others. Your feet get used to it, even on the hard, uneven granite terrain carved by glaciers in most of northeastern US and CA (and most likely Scotland). Your legs develop muscles around it over time. But my main point here is that I'm inclined to believe there's more to look into for the footwear of your historic kinsmen. They must have had some footwear teks for long travel - losing a pair of deerskin shoes over one 3 day journey in the wild seems a bit of a steep price to pay... but maybe I'm over estimating the past.
ОтветитьHow wur the midges?
Ответитьnow i have a lot of inspirathion. thanks!!
ОтветитьWell done young man.😁
An extremely well produced walk thru history, so often cold, grey and uncomfortable.
Best of the best Tom! I appreciate your insights
ОтветитьYou should try to change your arms sometimes (like at stick training and train both), like holding your sword with your right arm and using your walking stick with your left from time to time. Your left arm seems to be too fixed otherwise. ;)
ОтветитьI think the old folk would be proud of you. 😊
ОтветитьWhen you said oh sun give me your warmth... reminded me of why long ancestors worship the sun so much.
ОтветитьThis is wonderful. Thank you so much, from San Diego, California, USA.
ОтветитьOutstanding video and lesson. My Scottish Ancestors were tough people and made sense the part they played in the American fight for Independence.
ОтветитьMust be lembas. :)
ОтветитьOutstanding, I’m impressed and thankful you’re doing this, I specifically like your fishing episodes! Continue my friend blessings to ya…
ОтветитьI like to think an American tourist is somewhere telling the story of how they saw an olde times ghost in Scotland, they’ll swear they saw William Wallace in the distance walking along a misty ridge line.
Ответитьbut why they didn't tailored just leather boots like pirates do? ones in video are bronze age shoes
ОтветитьWhat tartan is the one that you use because i love it
ОтветитьWhat time period are you wearing?
By late 1800's Europe had rubber. For shoes, for pipes, tires etc..,
Your living life to the fullest, i envy that.
Ответитьif the kilt was part of my ancestral culture i would never wear anything else it's SUCH a beautiful piece of history i'm very happy it has remained into the modern era :D
ОтветитьBRO, HOW IS SCOTLAND SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
Ответитьwe mcphees and mcdonald came to america in 1772. names hve changes as we became MacPhee circa 1920. I see how my mcphee people changed, had to change our ways from our home of south uist. yes. we are changes. I am happy thet so much has come to me. unfortunetely i am the the fitst generation where the English is my fisrt language.
Yet Cape breton is my home, as well as my stronh ties to S. uist and lochaber. Moran thang for another perspetive.
Too often today masculinity is a sexual object and little thought gets above the length of a man or woman's inseam and the length and diameter of a penis on a pill.
In my lifetime it seems the characteristics of manhood has changed, and modern society has left little room for boys to grow by stages into manhood.
A Mother raises boys, a father raises men.
When it comes to Instilling the best qualities that used to define masculinity and manhood it begins in the family.
Not saying the man must rule, no it takes the union of good men and women together that forms child's mind, into having good character when man grown.
Same applies for female child, and there is a lot of truth in old saw, many a once good man met his ruin by his bad choice of a female, but then his manhood may of not realy been strong to begin with.
Tradíció, tradíció, tradíció!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
ОтветитьThe secret to a healthy life....keep your body moving.
ОтветитьHave you ever thought of making a guide service such that foreigners could experience this for hire?
ОтветитьLove the video amd your dedication but a part of me wonders why you used the trails at all? Wouldve been more period accurate to walk on the soil to the side of the trail used it for guidance.
Im sure you had a reason but that question stuck in my head
Please I need a full version
ОтветитьYours are some of the best British Isles( IDK a better way to say it) historical references.
Ответитьthe footwear of the day looks as though it protects against very little. I hope you you suffered no ills bcs of it on your trek
Ответитьauthentic gloves?
Ответитьnow Scotland being invadedby 3rd world dregs, even a Muslim in power ! Disgraceful.
ОтветитьI am a McKenzie living in North America for many, many generations on my fathers side and a few on my Moms. I live in Canada now and was born here as were my parents and their parents. There is a similarity between our Countries in many ways. The climate in BC, at least in the southern coastal region where I live has a similar climate. There are areas in BC that have a similar terrain. We also have desert and extreme cold. I feel a kinship though with Scotland and have an affection for it though Canada is my home. I have visited Scotland only once sadly. I loved it. I enjoy very much watching this series and will continue. Thank you. ❤
Ответить❤
ОтветитьI call the aroma you refer to as, “wet dog”. Well done!
ОтветитьMore bagpipe!
ОтветитьWonderful!
ОтветитьGreat video. Fine music as well. Greetings from Gothenburg Sweden.
ОтветитьFantastic, enjoyed every minute!!! SKOL...
ОтветитьExceptional work! My family came from a small village in Scotland, a few miles south of Edinburgh, called Bilston. I plan to visit there this summer. I feel an odd sense of longing when I watch videos like this.
ОтветитьI have now seen why people didn’t live to ripe old ages back in the day . My brother and I used to go feral during the school summer holidays and it was liberating . I have never lost that thirst for adventure . Thanks for sharing your adventure too
ОтветитьThat book looks interesting,
Perhaps an idea for a video: interesting books you like and would recommend on survival/bushcraft/ historical.
