This is great, you’re doing so well, almost there
Ответитьis there a part 6?
ОтветитьClearly not a keeper given you did not replace the initials plenum to manifold paper gaskets. It’s corner cutting like this that helps you chase your tail.
ОтветитьLove your videos m8 realy interesting
ОтветитьCongrats! Takes a lot of self confidence to take on such a massive project on what was originally a $140,000 car.
ОтветитьSorry if Im wrong but did you show an oil pressure gauge?
That excessive smoke looks like coolent(glycol) burning, I hate to say.
I was thinking you could of run an extension hose on your fuel line, right back into your fuel filler.
: )
Just found your channel mate brilliant stuff keep up the good work
ОтветитьBro! New subscriber here, absolutely FANTASTIC JOB putting her back together! I put an Audi A8L V8 Awd sedan back together after fitting a used engine after the timing belt broke and killed the original 😂 I had a very similar crank start….. die, crank back up……run…. Die…. Start AGAIN……. Run a little longer….. die AGAIN!…… lol just like you’re dealing with, once you get everything connected and verify oil flow/oil pressure, connect the radiator/cooling system 😂 I did the same thing ! 😂Open that throttle and give her some revvs and blow all that crap out and I bet she will smooth right out! It sounds fantastic on my side! No knocking, no ticking, just nice quiet Open manifolds! 😂😂🎉🎉 Can’t wait to see more!
ОтветитьWhat happen smoke many more ? Difficute engine start ,Why why ??
ОтветитьOn the Audi S5 4.2 V8, the fuel pump fuse is drivers side of the dashboard, brown carrier, number 3 and is a 25 amp fuse...maybe it is the same as the R8 as it is a V8? maybe? 🤔
ОтветитьTotally agree with comments commending your stamina and knowledge on such an incredibly complex engine.
ОтветитьWell done mate!!😊
ОтветитьBeautiful work. Keep it ip more videos sooner
ОтветитьEasy-off oven cleaner works well on those intakes as well I use it on Volkswagen cases when I turn down
ОтветитьWell done 🎉🎉
ОтветитьGive it some throttle so computers recognise throttle bodies to synse
ОтветитьBuy a Henry hoover and tape rubber pipe to end
Ответитьsounds like you didnt bleed the DI fuel system
ОтветитьHow much was the car, the engine & the parts etc?
ОтветитьNice one. I have rebuilt engines in the past (many years ago) and always had issues. One Toyota engine was so tight after new bearings and machined crank it all had to come apart again and be rebuilt. My Alfa Boxer engine was so easy to work on once you got it out the car but a nightmare to do any thing on while in the car. A 1.3 engine with 4 carburetors. It was so quick off the line a mates MK1 Golf GTI struggled to keep up with it.
ОтветитьLooks like there is still a problem in the right cilinderbank.
At youre first hard start there where little puffs of smoke af turning over a few times a lot of smoke . I think something is up with rings, gasket or valve guides. Would first check you're sparkplugs before starting again.
Good luck on the build.
Dude! Don't accidentally film a carbon monoxide snuff video. Open that roller door!
ОтветитьTrouble with these and many sports cars is they are not really repairable by yer average DIYer without a ramp
Ответитьshould've cleaned everything first, no?
ОтветитьWhat’s ghost?
ОтветитьTop drawer man! I own a 2012 R8 V10, albeit a different engine, but mostly the same, so ping me if you need pics or whatever of a working R8. Also own a 2007 S8 V10 and two others. I'm a total Audi fan all around. Best!
Ответитьawesome job!! - but open your unti doors!! LOL! :)
ОтветитьYeah, I was wondering why it had a lumpy idle and then you casually mentioned ALL the 'bits and pieces' you needed to add to it. SO, you should be very happy with the first start up. It was an excellent first result after rebuilding the motor! Well done! What an achievement!
ОтветитьBeen following this series since the beginning, had my fingers crossed for this one!
Ответить👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
😁 that’s what you call a squeaky bum moment Dean
Well done bud that was a mission of an engine build 👍🏼
Great effort Dean, it’s a very complicated engine to rebuild
ОтветитьHi man, on left side of intake manifold you did not conect vakum pipe, if the right side continues to smoke, check the injectors, good l.
ОтветитьGreat , looking forward to see you drive it
ОтветитьWhen you see the complexities of this engine you can see why electric is the way forward
ОтветитьNeeds the air box and maf sensor hooking up and you'll notice the difference in how it runs
Ответитьwhy ? the lump of shit will never be right !!! they are not ment to be fixed ...
ОтветитьWell done mate
ОтветитьBrilliant video once again
ОтветитьWell done all that hard work your are going to end up with a fab car
ОтветитьWhat’s easier - putting your s4 into service position and taking off the front - or the R8 and taking off the back ?
ОтветитьWell done... Send it 😂
ОтветитьWell Done..... Such an achievement mate 😎👏🏻👏🏻🇬🇧
ОтветитьTake some serious confidence to build these engines. Respect to you!
ОтветитьGreat job well done
ОтветитьNice😊
Ответитьnice attempt on getting the audi running must be interesting to find out why it sounds a bit rough mate.
ОтветитьWell done, it's been an epic job you should be proud
ОтветитьAhh, top stuff Dean, I'd be scared to death watching that fire up, you will sort it, really enjoyed watching, great work as always , well done.
