Definitely getting this.
Oh and Tito, have you ever considered making a Jaguar Duo system which would combine the Jaguar and Jaguar CD in one unit? That would definitely be a super-niche project considering that only around 20,000 Jaguar CD units were manufactured.
Maybe an option somewhere that boots the disk drive by default and cube boot with the left trigger.
ОтветитьThis looks crazy simple but good. If they can get GBI working with it, oh boy. I love that it keeps the disc drive intact too! :D
ОтветитьYeah the SD card accessibility is a problem.
ОтветитьThis design is so thoughtful and purpose-driven, I am absolutely floored. This is some of the most elegant, simple innovation I think I have ever seen in the retro gaming mod community. Amazing work by the designers.
ОтветитьWow! Very nice. I do hope that with Wifi/networking on board, it will allow for copy images via that transport, even though it looks like the intention is to eventually allow direct access from shares, based on what Chris mentioned near the end.
ОтветитьHey this is great! do you know if they'll, make it compatible with the m.2 loader? That would be pretty insane.
Ответитьwill it work with picoboot installed aswell?
Ответитьthat ribin cable is so freaking clever. Literally hugging the inside of the port and passing it back to the original disc drive. freaking genius.
ОтветитьKonkret!
Happy New Year 🍻
This thing is amazing. I love mods, but hate soldering, so this is perfect for me
Ответитьits so elegant and perfect not-mod! 👌and large SD card with all games looks as easiest way to upload new games 🤔 no wifi or ehternet needed
ОтветитьThis is exactly what I want from disc based console mods. I've been hesitant to mod an extra gamecube I have because I don't like removing disc reading for rom loading. This is awesome.
Ответитьbut can it boot homebrew? What if I want to run Gameboy interface?
ОтветитьWhat an elegant solution. Such impressive engineering and foresight. And offering the chip for such a reasonable price? Beautiful.
ОтветитьBro your "Retro Renew" intro brings chills every time.
ОтветитьGenuine question but why are people spending time on making this one both the Wii and Wii U exist with native GameCube compatibility.
ОтветитьHow I wish the Dreamcast had as many projects as the Gamecube has 😢
ОтветитьI don't know why, but the sideways mounted screw hole to keep the third screw in case you want to remove the mod made me smile.
ОтветитьDang. I haven't even installed my GC loader yet.
ОтветитьOMG! This is legendary! Awesome!
ОтветитьPreOrder includes other countries like Brazil?
ОтветитьAs a PAL peasant, I really like this mod because it looks like the cheapest and most stock feeling way to force my games into progressive modes. I'm getting some annoying deinterlacing artifacts on some textures using the GameCube GameBoy player and outputting through the Kaico Digital port to HDMI adapter, so here's hoping they can fix the bug with the GameCube player. Though I wouldn't mind checking out the homebrew software for playing GBA on the GameCube, I've heard it's much better than the original software.
Interestingly, I don't get any deinterlacing artifacts when playing Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire in the story mode of Pokémon Box, but that's a messy setup...
what an amazing mod! to be able to keep the optical drive in a console as well as load .iso files is important to me, Ill be getting this for sure.
ОтветитьWould have loved to see how to load swiss, as I'd need that for GBI or forcing display modes on PAL games
ОтветитьThat's amazing ! My only beef would be that you have to hold L to launch disc games. It would be better if you could just launch a game from the menu if it's in the drive
ОтветитьThey should provide the ribbon cable already folded for installation in my opinion.
ОтветитьReally, really looking forward to this ODE.
ОтветитьLooks amazing! Will definitely be getting one of these at some point. Hopefully there is a way to toggle a setting so that the disk works when you do nothing, and the trigger is needed to access the mod instead of the other way around. Probably would be more frustrating for most people, but I like the idea of it being a completely hidden feature unless you know it's there
ОтветитьIs this compatible with the BlueRetro mod?
ОтветитьThis looks fantastic, might just be the thing to finally get into Gamecube, since I hate the idea of having to mutilate it to mod it, but I do have one query about the optical drive. Since the ability to run games from the optical drive bypasses the Flippydrive, Is it safe to assume that discs would remain region locked?
ОтветитьDo they have a kit for the Dreamcast ?
ОтветитьInstead of putting the 4 screws back in, you can do what I did, and use some high powered rare earth magnets seated in the tops of the posts to hold it together. i can open my GC anytime, and its sturdy enough to hold it by the handle. That being said, I did 3D print a slightly modified base with the oem dimensions, just with a nifty little locking mechanism. they're spring loaded push buttons with a levered lift arm that disengages a small notch on the upper shell that I ca glued in place. it works flawlessly!
ОтветитьDoes Nintendo trip over devices like this?
ОтветитьEl gamecube chipeado
ОтветитьIs there a limit to how many ISO files you can put in the root directory? I know on some SD Cards you're limited to around 255 files per directory/folder.
ОтветитьUI looks super clean! Love it!
ОтветитьWhat temp do you run your soldering iron at for the real small stuff?
Ответитьany info on using this with Swiss
ОтветитьWith the onboard ESP module and wifi, I feel that the team should be able to add wifi based game uploading to the SD card, solving the issue with not being able to access it when the GameCube is reassembled.
ОтветитьYou should upgrade a backwards compatible ps3!
ОтветитьThis mod looks to be incredible! I was thinking then too, since the mod is still leaving the original optical drive functioning, something cool that they could potentially add in software maybe (if possible) would be the ability to create backup ISOs of your own discs directly onto the SD card.
Ответитьyo solo dire, comprate el wii y dejate de mamadas
ОтветитьRather than extend the micro sd card so it can be accessible outside the case they could make it so you could wireless access the sdcard and upload over a network....
ОтветитьIdk if the gamecube can rip discs but that would be a nice feature to add along with transferring games to it over the network so you dont have to open it.
ОтветитьThis is absolutely incredible and I can't wait for when they fully release it
ОтветитьThis is a mod I could actually see myself installing and using. This is so cool!
