You are correct in Canada like Quebec trois riviere or Montreal where I'm at massive Pike and Maske are plentiful. My best was a 42 inch maske and a 20 inch pike. The same river also holds very nice sized walley perch and Bass. Massive catfish and so many other species. Never seen 1 Trout figured it because we have so many predator fish. They only get bigger when you go up north a tad incredible fishing here. You need very good gear as these fish are very aggressive. Never tried a float cast for these fish always casting. I'll try some of your techniques. Great video

Does the float suspend the weight of the lead and the bait above the lake bed ? ( wanting to fish a foot or 2 above the bottom)

Another tip: Try to wear gloves when handling pike as they have a slime layer that prevents infection and parasites. If you wipe it off with your hands, it leaves the fish vulnerable to disease and other bad things.

I find a lot of pike will follow your bait and strike right before your boat so never pick your bait up to fast as they will chase

If hooks are bad kill the pike bc food will get stuck in the hooks and itll die slow in the water

out here in the frozen north we eat them. Their meat is amazing once you get around the bones, its almost like chicken in texture, very lean and meaty.

Hello, I was wondering if pike eats shrimp

Just hooked my first pike.. was just fishing for small mouth and boom.. felt like I was snagged on something.I struck a couple times got confused watched the fishing line swing around in circles in the water and new I got something different. I brought it all the way up to grab it and as soon as I reached down my line snapped, I tried grabbing it as it swam away all tired but it slipped out of my hands… the whole park heard me crying today I swear. Now I am here learning how to properly catch one of these guys lmaoooo

Could a 5-15 gram light spinning rod be able to catch pike on lures

I'm quite fond of single hook soft baits. More challenge and less messy unhooking produre as you don't need to deel with trebles.

Great video, caught pike before by accident but now that I am hunting them it is good to be prepared especially for the a big one!

I have a ps drop shot 8ft 5-15g rod with a crossfire LT 4000-c reel. Would this be anh good for pike lure fishing.
