You complaining about Sim card availability, are you aware of the terriorists risk from Pakis, ISIS and other organisations. Thus, the difficulty in obtaining Sims.
With tge regards to the pollution you should have known the high pollution periods in India and plan your visits around it.

Delhi is cold but not polluted & rough.

Connaught Place was the same in the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s, and now 20s — there are grandpas and grandmas now who as babies walked through the same streets of Delhi! 😃

Among all the people and cities in India, I have found Delhi and Delhiites to be the most chilled, decent, and laid-back.

I visited New Delhi twice back in 2003 and 2004. I could write a book about this wonderful but crazy city but there were two constant pains in the you know what. They are? The constant peep, peep, peeeeeep, peep, peep, peeeeep, peep of cars, buses, vans, and every other vehicle you can think of - hellish. And the other one? Crossing these streets - almost impossible - assuming you want to dice with death!! !!

After the I was flying to Delhi 1996 to meet
My sister. I love Delhi an the peoples also are very kind.

Most of Delhi is like this excoet some areas in old delhi like paharganj and chandni chowk… delhi is a mdoern metropolis and every big city has it’s shady parts… but unfortunately those are the only parts shown by western media and thus many people stereotype it. Hope you show more nice parts of New Delhi.. love from Kolkata 🇮🇳
