Heavily Tuned AMD R5 5600X vs. i5-10600K: Memory & CPU Overclocking Showdown

Buildzoid an expert…….🤔……. nah…….I don’t think so. Buildzoid is very good at getting ram to run very fast………but not necessarily stable. The key is to have the tightest ram timings that are stable. Having a slight speed increase is sufficient if you can tighten the timings along with that and reduce latency.

Supertuning is really, really good for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom emulation!!!

Sorry if read this wrong but the top of the chart states 3200mhz ? As in the beginning you used 3800mhz ram for the 5600x with Fclk 1900mhz . So was it the same memory or was it a 3800mhz kit with tight timings or was it the 3200mhz as stated in the top of the title graph of 3200mhz Oc to 3800mhz ? Anyone else notice this ????

This actually inspired me to tune my system, got my 5600X to 4.8Ghz all core stable, and I took my ram from 16-18-18-36 down to 14-17-17-33, I went from 4500 score to 4818 in Cinebench R20, and on the Dark Rock Pro 4 it gets a maximum of 81C and that's only if you stress test it

its a VERY BAD IDEA to do any tuning outside XMP on ryzen

Everyone knows atm 5600x for manual oc you only gonna lose performance. Try boost precision+200mhz PBO ON with manual override U can get 4850 max. It's 4650+200 boost for single . it means better for gaming

Honestly, I would say that since the 10600k is selling for about $100 cheaper (not to a T, but I did get mine for $187), after tuning it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to pay $80-$100 more for a jump from 220 to 240 fps. Even further, I can get a 10700k and tune it and completely flatten a 5600x

I'm getting way lower fps on shadow of the tomb raider with my 5600x and 3080. I get 176 fps on medium and mid to high 160s at highest. I have a dual kit memory at 3200. What gives?

Can you please run a same test for us engineers on AutoCAD, like could this be possible? AutoCAD is a mainstream industry standard and tends to be highly single core intensive when doing 2-d civil site design. A test with graphics acceleration off vs on, on a same file with a bunch of xrefs, hatches and corridors, and test like panning and update surface regen.. Another gagger for AutoCAD is if you have a cut/fill surface with a bunch of grid elevations and you change a surface elevation and refresh the surface, AutoCAD definitely hangs while it processes this. PLEASE, PLEASE? Help us guys who use this stuff for our work stuff, not just gaming, and don’t have time nor get paid to cross test platforms.

The 10600k for $170 on prime day is the deal of the century compared to the 5600x for $300 (or $280 if you live near a microcenter).

I let AMD Ryzen master OC mine with precision OC which boosts it to 4.7ghz. Can't figure out how to get it to 4.8ghz without doing the overclock in bios

this processor is great! I made a video where I managed to overclock 4950 MHz. The next step is to go beyond 5GHz.

Bow to the king CPU for gaming. Series 5600x is a beast. It even gives a battle to the latest i 9s.

whats weird is i kinda feel bad for intel lol
maybe its the competitor in me or maybe that i just like competition
but when the 1800x came out i bought one and didnt feel bad, for amd, that intel had more single core performance or could clock to almost 5Ghz
but now its almost like a bittersweet red victory like ur opponent is giving up, even tho obviously intel is not giving up and will come back

For me the 10600kf cost only 180€ qnd the 5600x (if i could get it for MSRP) wouldve been nearly twice the price. Really a no brainer to go with intel on this one

Going to be interesting playing with the 5600x when I get it upgrading from a 4790k that has been a nice cpu until now when it's showing its age

So, when you're CPU bottlenecked the GPU has to wait on the CPU, and when you're GPU bound, the CPU could give the GPU more to do but the GPU is going as fast as it can, so essentially the CPU is waiting on the GPU?

jesus.. just ordered a pc from digital storm with a 5600x and it blows my mind its outperforming intel's i5 equivalent in these benchmarks even at stock speeds.

So my 5600X upgrade from ryzen 3 1200 was good then? :D
