I've encountered a bug where S104 hits mi constantly, like it was this Vergil's blade area attack but hits just doesn't end no matter how much i parry.

they really need to refine the combat,
both weapons feel awful to use, judgement is slow and has this strange sheath animation anytime you're not mashing the attack button that locks you in place and the other is great at hitting the air above the enemy but nothing else while both just feel sluggish.

The parry is on point so the input delay for the normal attacks is really noticeable in fact the parry is so good I stopped using my normal attacks completely for sen "sin?" since everything was too slow to hit him before getting hit back and you can't parry out of an attack so you're completely defenseless while swinging judgement which has the before mention sheath animation too.

I want to like this game a lot the giant fight was sick as hell but man it needs a LOT of polish.

The demo definitely has a ton of potential- I'm really REALLY excited to see where it goes.
Interestingly, fighting Sin was the part I enjoyed the LEAST, lmao. For me personally, all of the combat issues combined to make the fight really annoying.
PyroLith is working on all of it, obviously- and it can only get better.
I'm ABSOLUTELY gonna come back to it after a few updates- the foundation of the game is SO strong. I just hope PyroLith isn't too psyched out by how popular the game's gotten!!

EDIT: also- forgot to mention- great video!! ive always been a fan of reviews and retrospectives in this style. simple yet informative, and not over-the-top!!

if you time it right you can slide and heal at the same time. its for sure a bug because its not the most reliable. but its mostly consistent if you get the timing right.

I was so confused fighting sin, i was like "oh maybe i can go somewhere else to get better weapons and stuff" So i wandered around and killed some of the other guys trying. It was a weird demo, definitely not bad but i was definitely confused

Controller support leaves a lot to be desired. When i plugged in a ps5 controller the triggers didn't respond to anything

Ngl, Sin was the point where I went from really liking the demo to not really enjoying myself anymore.

I have problems distinguishing his attacks, he does 2-3 damage in like a second sometimes and I genuinely don’t know how I’m supposed to fight against him.

And tbf, I don’t even know how you did half of your moves like sword beams. Genuinely have no clue how you did those.

Yeah the camera bothered me, for a game with such a massive scale both in ambience and in combat (particularly with big enemies) visual clarity and information are really important when keeping track of what is going on and the game could benefit a lot from a zoom out, at least when in combat. Other than that, that is probably the most compeling project for me since fear and hunger.

I think the big thing the game needs is some game feel improvements. Small, simple things that will make the game feel more satisfying to play.
- A more clear sound and visual que when you get it. It's really easy to not register that you've been hit.
- A similar sound queue for spending or gaining stamina might also be nice although maybe less necessary.
- Currently, if you are holding shift (dash / double jump) in the air, you can't press space to glide until you let go of shift. You should be able to press glide to cancel your current point in the double jump IMO. I think this is an issue with the state machine used to control the character? Just a guess though.
- Double jump itself feels weird to map to the dash button instead of the initial jump button. You get used to this pretty quickly but it threw me for a loop at first.
- The spear's combo will often send enemies in the air, and then miss with its air attack, awkwardly resetting you.
- I think a lot of attacks should either move you forwards, or let you walk a little while using them, because it's easy to attack just barely out of an enemy's range and get kind of awkwardly stuck in front of them. A lot of action games will have your attacks move you slightly forwards, or have a dash attack, to alleviate this.

If i had a nickel for everytime an indie developer created a badass game with simple looking graphics that let's you play as a robot that can parry almost everything and was inspired by devil may cry in some way, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

The fact that Rain World's ecosystem (the best part of the game) was an inspiration for this at all sold me. This will be a must-play when its polished and perfected.

My only problem with this game is that combat is very unintuitive. Combos don’t flow and you get stuck in buffered attacks. There’s no way to mixup your moves or extend combos you just parry do your 3 or 4 hit attack into the special move or whatever and reset

Just picked this up yesterday, only played about an hour… but right off the bat, I can tell you the character physics and combat physics need a lot of work. Other than that, I am enjoying it so far and especially the art style and aesthetic.

You can stance break them by hitting first, sin especially a lot of its moves are cancellable

I really love V.A. Proxy, it scratches an itch that other games fail to. I also really enjoyed the Scythe mini boss, it felt cool to just explore the world, but after all that playing... I didnt know you could do sword slashes lol

my honest thoughts on this whole project - ups and downs

1 - scared of it not receiving enough time, it is made by 1/2 people so unpolishedness is a given, but it can become something amazing given a LOT more time. A LOT. its potential is incredible and it would take a lot of effort to reach it.

2 - i hope they fix the dialogue... its kinda like a roughly translated russian csgo map

3 - if pyrolith DOES decide to take all the time they need with it, hope they dont get burnt out, given how tasking it is to make an entire game with all of its game and story concepts alone. When you do the same project for a long time it becomes super exhausting and you may begin to hate it after all.

I just gotta say, the automsphere and lore is enthralling with the robots fighting and the general visuals but honestly everything else kinda uh fell off beyond that for me, i did ALOT of walking, found alot of checkpoints and fought alot of the same enemies, but the high points in combat were pretty high honestly, i just need the open world to be Good, and thats it, the combat could stay as simple as it is as long as i just get to explore this enticing and beautiful of a world with well designed exploration, im making it sound simple but genuinely they have something here yk, it could be SO MUCH more. I liked the demo and i hope to love the game.

I knew so little about this game that I blindly went into the demo... and accidentally cheesed my way through the fight with both Sin and the giant final boss. So... yeah, going to have to try that again with a little more exploration this time.
