The miracle of India is the cultutal fusion post independence, despite many errors and mistakes. It is the long term vision of founding fathers that such a diverse colorful nation came together...primarily the great Mahatma whose image is being shamelessly tarnished by blind bhakts. You may add in Nehru and Ambedkar who wove in the modern fabric of this country. Before you shout from the rooftops, the freedom fighters..esp who gave their lives obviously are honorable and their names ethched in stone but that should not mean the founding fathers merely took advantage of them for some agendas like todays politicians. Gandhi and Nehru explicitly appointed the great Vallabhai Patel to assimilate the country, despite the differences. We are all desi and mostly hinduistic in our nature (as against reĺigious hinduism) but also have many flavours..without the super contibution from a small christian community in terms of schools, colleges, hospitals down the decades, not to speak of innumerous charitable works where would we be? Without the influence of Muslims esp in arts, cilture, cuisine and many aspects ..we would be so much less. The Farsis and Sikhs add unique flavor in so many ways. Remember Buddha was not merely another avatar or offshoot of mainstream hinduism but went competely on a tangent against its core tenets and established his own enlightened ideology. This is a union of beliefs. Like our masalas it all.comes together in a melting pot. If u want a majoritarian view, then many in the south are justified in saying they should split as south is far more prosperous, inclusive and bright than the north. So this simplistic idea that we are simple and uniform..and are all borne out of Ram Rajya is dangerous in that sense, and undermine some the great tenets and teachings of hinduism. Look at the independence and excellence of our armed forces..many of the officers and men speakgood english and hindi and have mostly been a wonderful picture of modern and strong india. It is, with all due respect to HE, not Chattrapati Sivaji's military. Because then you logically cannot leave out Tipu sultan or the great Akbar except on religious lines. The military since 1947 pledge allegiance to HE President of India...the modern republic...thanks to the farsightedness of founding fathers. We havent eneded up like some banana repulic with a tinpot dictator who has army on his side..look at Egypt, Pakistan. We should be proud but also introspective and evolved, enligtened from collusive experiences including vast history. India is a magnificient union and its beautiful. Thank you.
