Ankys are rly great as first tames you get narcoberry and metal two most important stuff in ark

YES, ankys have always been one of, or my favorite dinos, even before ark, their concept is so cool, i mean a giant spiky ball at the end of their tail which can swing with enough force to easily smash through a boulder.

The start of any tribe worth their salt on official is always in the order of PT, Argy, Anky and Angler fish. Cant wait for survival ascended to do that all over again on populated servers with real pvp.

Shame they can't do what the doedicurus can and harvest while airborne.

Tip if you dont have a saddle unlocked for the anky you can still get them close to the metal and let them swing their tail at it so they Will get metal

a quetzal with a platform and anky are good too.just need a ladder to mount ,a buddy on ladder to hold all metal, weight is nothing

Argy and anky is not he best metal farming combo. The crab and anky on aberration is the best metal farming combo.

now i know why my anky stopped gathering randomly when i collected metal with my argy anky combo. every time i took stone out of his inventory and put it into my argy he would gather again, but then at some point he just stopped. now i know, thanks.

Tip: mantises with picks gather a similar amount! They don't have the weight reduction but they sure do gather a lot!

For some reason o couldn’t pick up my anky with my argy, I took a 3 year break and thought they patched picking it up with left trigger, do I need to click my R3 button or what?

If you realized that he said the Anky had 75% weight reduction if you pair it on Argy it will stay still at 75% weight reduction just don't put the metal on you're Argy let it sit on the Anky.
It will become 50% it you put the metal on you're Argy...
We know that when our Anky get encumbered we put the metal on the argy are I just did drop the Anky exactly on the metal node and I ride to manually harvest the node..

More people need to realise how good the magmasaur is, on my rates an Anky gather 400 metal from from rich node but the magmasaur gathers 1400 metal from a rich node.

dunkies can collect up to 10k metal i used to use them on pvp official on rag in the rivers at blue obi with a gasbag to ferry to upload not as easy to get but they are deffo worth it, as not a lot of pvp like searching in water my longest lasting base was underwater vac base on rag lasted about 4 months and dunkies made metal so easy before gen 2 came out but striders are deffo the best metal farmers by far and easy to tame only issue is you cant really keep them as you cant cryo them which makes mega tribes even more op its bs for a solo player.

Bah. Yuty is my favorite because they are adorable and fast. Any other feature is just bonus.

Hey bro I don't mean to sound like a know it all, I genuinely just want to help. But Ankys don't have to be mounted, simply hold it with an argy above metal nodes and it'll auto gather up to 60-75% weight for the anky I believe it was. Aaaand lesser known tip, dude ankys are amazing early swimmer tames. I'd prefer one over a turtle ANYDAY due to its resourcefulness, great in battle too but you said that. 😂

Before the magmasaur? ahh so meaning an anky is better than a magmasaur, because the anky comes before the magmasaur... man, that makes sooooo much sense!

or just jump into gen 2, do some missions, gather some mutagel and tame a tek stryder with harvesting and saddlebag attachments and farm metal (plus everything else) like a BOSS!

if you're playing on aberration you can replace argentavis with karkinos

Karkìnos is in my opinion better than the argy because they can defend you well, aweasome for moving around, fun to use, very good for water caves, they do NOT aggro sea creatures exept sea scorpions and pirhanas, and they can hold more weight+ combined with mining drill and 2 ankys you can get roughly as much as a magma, just a lil slower

The anky out of all the maps I’ve beaten, is the only creature I’ve tamed on all 4 maps, being The Island, Scorched Earth, Aberration, & Extinction, the streak might break though, because I’m on Genesis 1 and Anky’s aren’t quite as needed there

It’s better to tame a decent Bloodstalker and get a Magmasaur instead of taming an Anky, and having to walk it to metal nodes

Or having to go to the lunar biome and tame a crab

It’s pronounced differently ank-ilo-saurus you say the y as an I sound

Add a karkinos to the équation then you get an insane mining machine with high mobility

The fact that the Argent is carrying a anky with one talon is too impressive of a feat

You can use the anky while carrying it with an argy, just fly next to a metal ore and the anky will mine it
