Thank you Joris, I enjoyed the video. For so long I used and continue to use the Fuji x100v camera with the 23mm f2 or 35mm equiv. Went to Italy and brought only this camera. I shoot a lot of street and often dont look through the viewfinder or lcd screen and my main camera now is the Sony a7c with the very small 40mm f2.5g. It is a little tighter than the 35mm which I really like just enough to give me great framing as well as an environmental context, However the Fuji has a leaf shutter so if I am in a metro, museum a very quiet place I put out the Fuji. It also is great to have a backup if anything ever happens. I use an old very small sling bag with padding and this works for me. Cheers

Have you ever try the 45mm 2.8 for the 645z? I also think that the 55mm is sometime too narrow and I also love the 35mm 1.4 art on Full frame. I miss that lens and wonder if the 45mm 2.8 pentax (35mm f/2 equivalent) would do the job?

hello mate ;) so what about 22 mm f2 on apsc cameras such as M50, isn't it an equivalent of 35mm on full frame cameras? would you recommend that lens?

Hey man! Great photo's and a great review! And yeah I agree! When I moved from canon to Fuji, the first lens that I bought was a 23mm 1.4 (apsc) And I really love what it can do. At a vacation it was the only lens I brought, and I love the flexibility of the focal length. But yeah a strange thing these days with social distancing, I nowadays mostly use 56 mm apsc for streetwork. Looking forward to things to open up and be able to travel again..

43mm for full frame, does not exist. Canon does have an EF 40mm f / 2.8 STM. that is 3mm short

Why prime lens to begin with regarding a TRAVEL lens? I fully understand the argument that prime lenses are noted to have better acuity...But in today's technology, is that TRULY a significant factor? Yes, compose with your feet, but a zoom lens gives one MUCH more range. Please advise...TY!!!!

There must be something nice on 35 mm when Sony RX1 is using this focal lenght. I have made a statistics of my pictures and most of my favourite shots were done at wide angle (24 mm), but still I decided to go for prime aprox 45 mm (30 mm APSC). These pictures have sort of hidden ability to transform my display into window which makes me feel like I am standing there again. Some certain composition much be present for this effect, but still I appreciate it more than wide angle lens characteristics.

I'm a Fuji shooter and the 23 1.4 (almost 35) is one of my favorites besides the 16 and 56. When I was a Canon shooter I also had the Sigma 35 and it was almost permanently on my body. If I had to choose it will be the 35 and a 28mm.

The Canon 40mm 2.8 is an amazing lens. Sharper than some of the 2.8 zooms. Pentax 43mm f1.9 is still a unique lens for FF cameras, don't know about performance but big respect to Pentax for making it.
Just about to trade in my Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art for the Sony 35mm 1.8 FE. The Art is amazing just not a good fit with the A7 bodies. 35mm 1.8 FE has a nice close focus and good edge to edge as well. It's maybe over priced by others standards but the performance, features and package seem excellent and it's a lens I'll use a lot. I can recommend the Samyang 35mm 2.8 FE and for the A6xxx the Sony Zeiss 24mm 1.8 E as well.

I used to keep my 50mm 1.8 g (75mm with 1.5x crop) with my d5200 but, there was a time I was overwhelmed by the bokhe but with the time ,I found the focus accuracy is not correct with the lens which I previously ignored as my fault of choice of lower shutter speed or too shallow DOF, now I am positively thinking of the 35 mm one, as per dxo mark it's a better alternative of the 50 mm for my d 5200.
Do you recommend the sigma 1?
If you are making a lens series can you please make one on lens Fungi!! I take a lot of precautions but they don't seem to leave me..I Want to mention none of my lenses are "pro grade".

My favorite lens is the 35 1.8 S for my Nikon Z6 . It’s really versatile. I’ve had that Sigma 35 1.4 and it’s a great lens . One of my all time favorites .
