Reality: Filipinos (here in the Philippines) mostly hate foreigners. xenophobia is a big thing here (encouraged by the populist right wing government) as is shadism, racism, and homophobia. if you're a non-Filipino-- unless you want to go straight to a beach, its best to avoid our crowded urban areas like Metro Manila or Cebu city. if you want to be involved in societies more, its better to be somewhere more foreigner accepting, like Thailand or Malaysia. the social problems here are still too raw for our country, and the easiest scapegoat is the foreigner for all of our woes, which the govt manipulates the masses to believe.

Philippines is a poor, dirty and ugly slum nation. The infrastructure is ugly, the vehicles are ugly (Jeepneys and tricycles), the food is terrible, the streets are very ugly (full of wires hanging everywhere), there is also trash and begging kids everywhere. I feel sorry for anyone who has to live in this awful country.
