Ответитьyo I have a gaming PC not my main build because it has a GTX 460 but still a gaming PC it has that same exact case but just with a bit of differences the one I have has a bunch of stickers from the manufacturer and builder of the case
ОтветитьI remember my clients pc using this pc and computer shop I worked before. Missing those days having 512mb RAM is like 16GB RAM today. And 80GB RAM is like 1TB SSD today. Missing the buzz and blinks from optical drive. thanks for this video for bringing happy days of DDR1 AMD computers.
ОтветитьeBay guy- "It's just good business"
ОтветитьThat case would make a slick sleeper i might have to buy one
ОтветитьYoung Linus look gay as hell😂
ОтветитьWell my First gaming pc specs are:
Motherboard: A320M-A Pro
CPU: Ryzen 3 3200G
GPU: RX 580
RAM: 16gb ddr4 ram
SSD: Generic 256GB M. 2 ssd
Case: 1st Player T3
PSU: 1st Player DK 6 600w PSU
My new opinions: damn this build is so budget
i think it can run minecraft with third party launcher like multimc
ОтветитьCame here from the last week's WAN show. Good stuff.
ОтветитьThis video just got shouted out in the latest WAN lmao
Ответитьthat sucks mine was an xbox 360. lol first real was i7-6700k gtx970 16ddr4 2tb + 500gb
ОтветитьThat makes me old... My first PC was a 386 :(
ОтветитьWhen your a4 actually had worn out. also still remember the sound of a quantum fireball harddrive spinning up
ОтветитьI still remember my older brother messing around with code in DOS in the early 90's and watching him tinker with some of the first windows 95 / 98 builds he did ( he was around 13 at the time, was always very smart, is now an electrical engineer ) honestly I miss these years so much, building a PC just to play unreal tournament on high graphics and making his own server to host games with friends was so cool to watch and learn from, some of my fondest gaming memories are from that generation and I'll always have a soft spot for old school tech because of it. Please keep making these flashbacks to the past ❤️
ОтветитьI have an am3+ motherboard with a very similar bios interface
ОтветитьPeople like Linus are why scalpers created code to buy PS5’s ahead of time
ОтветитьCan't remember my first computer specs exactly but it was something like a 486DX with about a 50hz clock speed. Unsure on ram or capacity but it didn't even have a CD drive lol had to run things in DOS because the windows 3.1 on it was next to useless and most of the games I played like Doom and CIV were DOS based anyway. Used that until I upgraded to a 500 mhz Pentium 3, 150GB hard drive with 128 ram. I remember thinking I was cool because I had a dvd burner in it. Nowadays optical drives for PC's largely don't exist 😂
Ответитьdamn that PC is far better than my Pentium III that I was running from back in the day. and that sucker was running at 750mhz, Good luck trying to run games like GTA SA, NFS Underground, and Underground 2. heck it was packed into a HP Vectra case one of the best, at the time it had a 30gb hdd a floppy drive and a optical drive. I later changed out the floppy drive for a 40gb hdd, and put in a second optical drive.
I got a lot of use out of it before it ultimately bit the dust. (3 short beeps repeat twice followed by two long beeps could have been the PSU or maybe the motherboard, I'll never really know for sure). the motherboard was an A Open board plus the onboard VGA died so I had to use a card, and even a USB hub PCi card later down the road. I can't remember what kind of ram it was running it could have been DDR400 or DDR2. and I can't remember what kind of video card I was running either.
Linus: upset someone with an old, rare, working motherboard which has sentimental value to Linus charged $135
Also Linus: charges $30 for water bottles and $250 for a jacket 🤠
The other day I found a Pionex desktop PC hanging in the garbage dump. Looked like the same family PC my parents bought for WAAAY too much on QVC. There was also some Mac Quadra's and other cool stuff.
ОтветитьOld video I know but perhaps you had instability issues also due to the fact that Athlon XP was not only chipped but had heat damage also.
Ответитьjunk six years ago is the ewaste of the future
ОтветитьYou look like you about to diss Eminem and he about to end your career.
ОтветитьI used to game on my Dad's 386' / 486's PC's when I was a teenager, he used to get somehow from work! Ha! I can remember having to change the sound drivers for each game I played! This was also accompanied by my ZX spectrum with the tape loader! Can remember getting quite frustrated when the tape data got misread and had to load a game which probably took like 20 minutes on some games! So much has changed! I only started building my first PC in my late 30s a mix of new and secondhand components! I passed some of this PC down to my Son to build his, and now he's rocking a i5 7600K (O/clocked) with a 1650 Super it works for him playing Minecraft, Fortnite, Terratech etc.
ОтветитьMy first one was an i3 3220 with 2GB RAM, an 80GB hard drive, and an ATI Radeon 5500. I gamed on a 14 inch CRT monitor that maxed out at 1280x1024 resolution.
ОтветитьThe fact he didn’t game on it makes me feel I wasted 13 minutes 😢
ОтветитьPaper mousepad? I used to use a de-sleeved hardcover book that was about 16x+14. Plenty of texture for the IR sensor. Worked perfectly with my Intellimouse Explorer.
ОтветитьLinus, if you still have that system, why don't you try recapping that motherboard? Yeah they had a reputation for leaking, but it doesn't always kill the board.. I had numerous AMD boards from that era that the Caps had leaked out on and they were basically all dry, after cleaning it up it was super unstable and most of the time wouldn't even make it to the windows desktop, I ultimately tried recapping one of them, and it ended up fixing the issue.. I still have that system now, 15 years later..
ОтветитьThat CPU cooler looks like it is fresh out of a house fire!!! Jesus!!
ОтветитьFaster then most computers today 💀
Ответитьi have the same motherboard as your first pc
Ответитьoverpaid motherboard and not even having the io shield...that seller screwed you over big time
ОтветитьLol the 'ol CRT headache machine.
And drives are still evil these days even without master Vs slave Vs cable select, the evil just moved into the firmware if your unlucky enough to meet an edge case.
Epic
ОтветитьLinux being ah 80Go storage enouph being som decade after how much tab can be open with a Tb of ram (something that would have been crazy before 2000
ОтветитьI will always treasure my 3,5 booting floppy I was using to get more memory to play things like TFX or Strike Commander. Great times.
Ответитьi have a boxed version of that cooler u used if u guys want it and its in PERFECT condition and i live in bc

ОтветитьBro I miss when it was called massdrop and not the far more generalized ”Drop”
ОтветитьIt wasn't a rig it was a pig
ОтветитьI didn't think the old screwdriver trick to install heatsinks was a poor design choice. You just had to avoid being a total idiot.
Ответить"Childhood hits as computer boots"
ОтветитьI'd lke to see you make this into a Mining Computer! that would be epic to see! :)
