Incredible game. And a launch title too.
It's a shame, the DS had so much more potential when it comes to graphics, but too many 3rd party developers did not make use of the DS hardware.
Games like Mario 64 DS and Metroid Prime Hunters really show the potential of what the DS could do with the right art direction.

This game is so special to me. This is what a remake should be. 30 added stars, 3 extra playable characters, improved graphics. I miss this era of gaming ❤

Control issues aside, this is the best version of Mario 64, and I really wish we had gotten this one in the 3D all stars collection with analog controls and HD resolution. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Still confused as to how you're able to enter the basement through the moat door without the game thinking you're swimming. Might be a DS exclusive thing.
