It’s fun to see people from other nations feel sad about it, that they literally never listen to any of us, blocking people comments and just play dead, 5.0 updates should have done it years ago too, I’m really looking forward of what they will do next.

Some people are very hateful and it says more about the hater than the people they direct the hate to. Playing this game for almost 4 years, I have nothing but respect and admiration for the makers of Genshin. Love this game….

If he really remembered us...he would had reprimand the Genshin director for being stingy with 4 pulls, WHY NOW??? Isn't that too late??? The fact that the free 5 star is from Standard banner and not from the RECENT Natlan characters SHOWS how much and how deep is the farce sincerity. I'm sorry but I don't buy this emotional fakeness.

Storytime: I was a hater of this game before. A skeptic because of it's suspicious fame. Then eventually I got hooked on playing it because my siblings are also playing it.

Looking back, I really enjoyed everything about this game. The rich storytelling, the simplicity in combat, the thrill of getting the charas you want (the frustrations of losing a 50/50)

I'm not saying I'm the biggest genshin white knight. Cuz there are many times I hated it. But the fact that every part of it grew on me is just amazing to look back.

If anyone on the genshin team can do see this, You guys are awesome. Keep it up 🔥

I love Genshin with all my heart, one of the few games that will stay with me forever. I don't believe in giving them hate or being offensive, I understood that the game had a problems but kept playing, I admit that there were times when I was not having fun with it. This last 4 years of Genshin I feel that the team was a bit lost, especially since Honkai Star Rail came out and brought changes that we have been suggesting for so long, made things worse in the community. Now after 4 years we started to see some changes, and I have to admit, yesterday when I watched the 5.0 special program it brought tears to my eyes. I'm so happy that finally Genshin is turning into the amazing game it is. <3

I am thankful to Hoyoverse because it has created so many new jobs and opportunities for people. It came from just a few friends to this huge mega corp offering so many new things.

People need to remember HoYo is a CHINESE company. They have to obey the Chinese Government. If the government tells them they can't make dark skin characters ,then they won't do it. The Chinese Government has the power to shut them down. They're already pushing it with tanned characters as it is. Chinese Government don't like it when people criticize them and their policies either. So HoYo can't openly talk about thier dealings with them.

from what i can see in 5.0 they took the criticism .. and improved on it yeah took them 4 years but better late than never ! the weapon banner change is pretty big. saves you a nice amount of primo etc the artifact item that will let you get CR CD easily and im pretty sure there is more to come..

The worst part is, the harshest voices come from those who don't even care about Genshin....
They don't care that the devs and staff involved behind Genshin are also humans who can see the harsh stuff they say.
Even now, after all the benefits and rewards presented for 5.0, i still see people complaining-- people who really just want to hate on hyv for no reason 🙄

It's really saddening, because we really just want to enjoy this amazing game, yet it's hard to navigate away from the negativity when it's screaming left and right 🙃

There will always be room for improvements, and they really are trying!! 🥹

As someone who's been playing Genshin since November 2020, I've seen it improve with every update. The amount of content you get, combined with the quality of the game, is truly admirable, especially for a free-to-play game. I will never understand the hate this game receives just because it doesn't offer enough rewards. Since when did rewards become the metric for deciding whether a game is good or bad? This type of mentality just pours cold water on all the hard work that has gone into making the game. Why should the developers and studio pour their sweat and tears into crafting incredible landscapes, amazing character designs, a beautiful story, gathering an insane cast of top voice actors in the industry, and orchestrating some of the best music I've ever heard in gaming if the only thing people care about is how many rewards they get? They really don't deserve this toxicity.

Love to Dawei and all the genshin team. They have made something incredible that has touched the lives of so many people. Genshin will always have a place in my heart I've made so many good memories having fun with teyvat and met so many kind people through co op. Love to hoyo love to Dawei <3

I’m glad he got this out, I think this was a great introduction to potentially bringing genshin back to its former glory. (Or at least making the community more positive)

We were never neglected, there was just a decrease in motivation, which many people didn’t understand, so thankfully he addressed it.

Going to basically copy and paste my comment from a server where this video was posted in: Genshin isn’t a perfect game. No game is. There are valid criticisms, but most of it is blown way out of proportion, mainly on the Western side but the Eastern side has its problems too. I almost teared up watching that clip. It’s clear that the team puts their heart and soul into this game, which mind you, this company wasn’t very well known in the West until Genshin. I played this game since around 30 days after launch. Even back then it still got hate, being called a “Breath of the Wild clone”. But I was fascinated on how such a fun and expansive game could be completely free*. Im so hyped for where the game will go, especially since it’s been confirmed from the start that Teyvat is just a mere *part of the story. This sounds sappy, but without Genshin, I don’t think I’d be where I am, as because I followed Genshin so closely, I played some of their other games (Star Rail and Zenless upon release, Tears of Themis about a year into its EN release) and built my following on the former most. I truly am hopeful for the future of the game.

Genshin while do deserves criticisms, doesn't deserve the stuffs some of the so called players said.

You know they are just talking out of their ass when they said stuffs like they never had qol or never improved or only talking abt how many pulls they're getting.

Best yet are those who bitched abt how it took xx years to do this and that it's too late now or that they just copying hsr etc.

I came from the time Aion and Blade & Soul was around, I was once like u all too a stans a shill...then one day CCs of Blade & Soul quit and gave up coz the devs NEVER listen, Aion kept recycling trash just to milk us credit card swiping... I went thru these and finally understood in order to really change things around....being a complete Stockholm Syndrome stans and shill WILL NOT CHANGE ANYTHING, ONLY COMPETITION will change things. Let me ask this...why it took 4 years to shed tears now? Why these actions COINCIDE with Wuthering Waves and OTHER GACHA competition? For all I know the audience could've been staged...smart gamers know all the underhand tactics to squash competitions, most smart gamers and I are not that dumb Da Wei. Oh yes...let me remind you that Da Wei announced free 4 pulls on anniversary on that past LIVESTREAM by his OWN MOUTH....hmmm, and now tears? Free 5 star? How coincidental. He had that POWER to change at that time, he could have rebuked that 4 pulls mind you....THINK.

Thank you for posting this and your positive response. . It's so clear the love the passion they pour into Genshin and it must have been heartbreaking to hear such negative reactions. 

Genshin is the best game I've ever played... the music alone is wonderful. The attention to detail is insane. I've watched many of the background videos they made - how to cook certain dishes, stories about lanterns, how they designed various monsters, etc etc. Fascinating stuff.

I mean I understand both ends, where the massive haters who want to boycott the game, those who simply gave up on it as well as us who still play it and want to continue supporting it... we all have been pleading with them for years. And it was way too long...

I am guessing most people who left it will maybe come back to check on it once in a while for the story. Those who absolutely hate it and found other games to play, will likely not return just because of their pride, even if they get bored of other games. And us, who would likely continue to play it, simply because we like the feel and story of it so much even if they didn't fix anything at all...These changes of course are fenomenal and it is exactly what the game needed all along, but I do wonder, is it a little too late? I think for some people it is, because not many people like to give their trust again once it's been broken so many times...

For Genshin, it is now crucial to keep on their best behaviour and listen to players, make changes, involve themselves with us, rather than being the cold parent that it was. They must not under any condition give us the feeling we are being ignored again. Some people wonder whether this message was carefully crafted for people's heartstrings, others think he is the sole culprit of the game even being so greedy from the start...I don't know if there even exists a true answer of who was the director that decided to not listen to players...But I do think this guy, who we know is one of the 3 owners of Mihoyo as well as the guy we always see on these updates, feels like he made the sole decision to listen and make the changes happen.

I still think this game has a great potential and if they listen and engage with players properly, it will thrive. Just maybe not anymore for the people who used to play it and hated the history of it...But new players will enjoy it.

All in all, let's hope for the best, stop pestering them for a but so we see where things go. I would urge people to stop harassing, since it seems they are genuinely trying this time. Hope to see u in game :)

This game has given me happines , its lore has intrigued me , i don't care what rewards i get infact i don't care if it is being killed by other "better" games , i will keep playing this game with all my heart because i am a traveler who will find the truth of teyvat .

The devs and the company is greedy. That cry was fake. And I still don't belive they want to give us any good treetment.
The new artifact crafting will be a revenge from them, "travelers wanted good stats: DEF 29,9%, DEF 99, Crit DMG 5,3, Crit rate 3,3" that's what we will get. Sorry I don't trust them anymore.

I honestly do not know how to feel about this. DWG has continuously demonstrated a deep connection to the Honkaiverse, yet it's kind of unfair that he construes the backlash HVY THEMSELVES created as a personal attack - especially since we have seen REAL personal attacks against him before (death threats, etc).

Dawei is very personable and comes across as a sweet guy, but this man is CEO of a multi-billion dollar company - he's NOT the boy next door. In the end, the Genshin Team was only looking at the numbers and chose to listen to their player base ONLY AFTER they lost that first 1M followers back in Jan (because, numbers.).

This whole apology would have been far more believable if it had been given by Mr. Cai Haoyu. At least to me. Perhaps CH is the genius who created the IP, and HYV would simply crash and burn without his ideas, but the hubris and greed have been palpable for quite some time now.

If i'm not wrong. All those poor reward's all those years was because of the one of the CEO who left not long ago from the genshin project (i forget his name ngl)
