In a lampworker and I have also pulled glass outfits stream in the village and made beads. There's a big bottle dump near here so there is plenty of glass to be found.
As others have said, please get yourself some didys for your eyes. Get plenty of ventilation and be careful with that fibre blanket! Hopefully it's body soluble - meaning it won't harm if you breathe it in.I
Little tip, small footprint on the mandrel, add more glass, but shape outside the flame. You will have more control. Keep doing what you are doing your channel is fun!

That brown glass looks like what my Great Grandmother used to take for her stomach and it was Philip milk of magnesia. They used to come in cobalt blue bottles then they switched to the brown bottles. You will not believe me when I tell you this. But she would clean them up because she would have to have that medicine every day so she would soak them clean labels off and store them in a box until she had enough of them. The she would take them outside and turn them upside down and make a flower bed. My Great Grandfather would get so mad at her because when it got time to mow it seems like a rock would hit at least one or two each time he mowed the grass. She would tell him he did it on purpose. I would sit and watch them. 😂 laughing because when they got through they would walk away smiling. I loved going to see them every summer. But that was the story of those milk of magnesia bottles. In her yard was those blue and brown bottles. My Dad told my mother one day. Now Ellen don’t you be getting no crazy ideas, because she would go to my mom and ask her, do you want me to save you some to. My Dad spoke up quite quickly and said no thank you. 😂 this all happened in the 60’s.
Girls I love how you made those beads. I would have loved to see that orange piece of glass turn into the same color orange that you started out with. But they still turned out beautifully. I really love the yellow with the black lines in it to . Thank you for sharing and showing how to do it. Gonna have to try my hand at it. Lovely beads but please, please, please invest in didymium glasses if you continue to lampwork. You risk severe damage to your eyes, it doesn't show up right away but it's there.

OMG so wow I would like to make it but I can’t get those materials 😭

if you use broken pyrex glass you do not have to anneal.the glass will not shatter when quick cooled.

a friend made glass marbles.he had a pot of zonalite on a hot plate.when he finished a marble he put in the pan.when he was done he turned the hot plate of .that allowed the glass to cool slowly.
