Cypraea tigris - Tiger Cowry

What an incredible find at low tide! I'll be looking for them now that I know it's possible.

im a collector and it is nice to see her alive. i would realy like to be finding and researching
spieces like you. but unfortunately i live on odher side of the planet far away from sea.

Oh wow nice cowry...

Here after buying a Tiger Cowrie shell. I was amazed to learn that the brilliant smoothness of the surface wasn't manmade and was actually naturally occurring; The surface of the shell is polished during the course of the animal's life as it repeatedly envelops the outside of the shell with it's mantle.
