Pete,
THANK YOU!!!! I absolutely love your videos. On this one I am really stuck. I was able to get your example working just fine. However, I am trying to relate 2 custom tables that are not nodes or any entity type. After searching for ~8 hours on the "google machine", I can't find any mention of relating 2 custom tables for views. help?!?

Great tutorial. In my case, I'm using two custom tables in my module(eg: countries, cities). In my view I want to show all cities and a Exposed filter "Country". Currently my Exposed filter is a TextField, How can I change it to a Dropdown list(all Countries)?

Hey, I really appreciate your making all these videos; however, I started on tutorial one under the assumption that you would show us how to make a chart. I'm trying to take data that users enter into a webform and have it show up in a line graph on a user-specific page... I'm 7 videos in with you and haven't seen how to do this :((((

Actually I didn't yet make this log because I am not sure if I must use a custom content type or I must use webforms... I make an application log for training sessions in Access and here I don't have problems with relations many-to-many between tables but in Drupal I am a little confused about the strategy I should adopt.. Best regards!

Hi Rares, I have to be honest, your question kind of has me scratching my head... nonetheless, if you created this log using drupal core (i.e., some content type that users fill out), yes, you can use views... I would only think you'd need to do some custom php to access the database if you created your log through custom coding...

Thank you for all this great tutorials! I would like to ask you: I want to creat a lod Journal for runners; a runner have one or more pairs of running shoes; for this running shoes I want to create a separate table. My question is: In the webform where the runner log his session of training can I have a combobox which takes the values from the runningshoes table whith a filter for userid? Can i achive this kind of thing with the views or I must to write some pure php to access the database?

thx for the feedback! the db stuff was just to show that typically we'd have a module that stored data in the db... it was really so we had dummy information to work with. With regards to info files, you're right but i think i mentioned that i wasn't going into it in depth and if viewers are familiar with these concepts, it was probably best to check out drupal.org. I assumed if you are working with the views api, you were familiar with module development... sorry, couldn't cover everything.

After clearing the cache around 24:25, I think we should be adding the module... without it, TWD Dogs would not show as a type for filter.

Only problem was in this video you do not usually do, is that you took some pretty big independent leaps (database and .info file). I would say it is a good assumption that we are all pretty much Dupal-noobs here, so a little more hand-holding would be a good thing.
