The Nolan brothers' movies mentioned here (and most of their others) work on the principal that 'I'm the writer/director, and I can do what I like even if the developments make no sense and the characters act like people don't@

No Country for Old Men's ending was masterly done. Perfect. The problem is people have this unhealthy obsession with needing closure and the ability to have their cake and eat it too.

I found Donnie Darko to be like a badly written teenage essay. Obvious and daft. It's clear the whole film is the dream, the character has before the aircraft engine, hits the house, he's in, and kills him, or is it, hence it's so school essay.

I've seen Tenet once and the only thing I found confusing was the audio work. It may have forced me away from Nolan movies since with the exceptions of Dark Knight trilogy and Prestige, I really have no desire to watch his movies again. But to each their own.

I never understood the ending of “Crash” (1996) (the David Cronenberg version, not the Oscar winner).

Donnie Darko had an easy ending to comprehend so it's weird to be on this list. I'd have swapped it with the ambiguous ending of Total Recall (1990) because no one knows to this day if Quaid was still locked in the simulation or if he really did have the spy life and made Mars more habitable.

Kolobos is always the mine that comes to mind. Was Kyra the victim of a sick serial killer, was she the killer herslf, or was it all in her mind. To this day no one knows.

I'm so surprised the the movie "Arrival" is not in the list. I watched it in theaters and at the end several people were still in their seats so confused,so many people didn't understand the ending and kept saying I don't get it. My mom didn't understand it either, the car ride home I was explaining it to her til she finally got it. lol

The first time I saw 2001 (which was around when I was 13) I didn't get it at all but I didn't care. Five years later--and a college-level biology course under my belt--I understood. But it's a great movie either way.

Making deckard a replicant in the end would mean on the second movie that 2 replicants had a baby. Idk

Every thing on this list was beyond cringy, eye brow lifting, and was able to scratch all of our heads trying to figure out the meaning behind all the movies endings
