Hi. An old neighbor, landlord and friend of mine, a professor of Russian history at the University of Texas at Austin. died in 2000. After his death, his daughter gave me some 78's and his Victrola which I gladly accepted. In the collection, I have a Victor record with your father's name on it as the piano player along with Yehudi Menuhin on the violin. It's in great shape considering it has not been played in many many years. I pretty sure it belonged to his wife's father. Handle Op. 1, No 15.

Words fail me. How can you describe such perfection and beauty of sound into words. For me Menuhin is still the greatest violinist I have heard in my life time. Nothing has been found to authenticate Solomon's temple except this sound which has endured for over 2000 years. You may disagree with me, in that case listen to this recording again...

Our choral group will be singing Bloch's Silent Devotion and Response in a performance this weekend. I wanted to check out other compositions by Bloch and found this. Oh, my. This violin speaks. Superb. I feel privileged and blessed to have ears when I can hear this beautiful sound.

The language of the poet, the prophet and the visionary, all in one, and all in miraculous tonal evocation - Yehudi Menuhin was God's gift to music, and to our universal humanity! No time better deserves to be reminded of our species' higher dimension than right now... Thank you for this priceless gem.

This is a human voice singing to humanity in a way only Menuhin could do.
