Here is usual biofilm again of a 6mm PPD in periodontal Stage II Grade A patient (Leica DM750 ICC50 W camera). Not smoking, no medical history and very sporty fit young adult. Quite long video, it only reveals, first step bacterial pathogen filamentous organisation followed by parasitic infection and typical inflammatory process producing bone loss.
Removing all this pathogenic microbiota wether porphyromonas gingivalis, streptococcus, spirochetes, bacteroides, trichomonas or entamoeba (https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fcimb.2018.00379/full) and leaving normal commensal biofilm without inflammatory cells will easily brings back complete health. More effective, this early case do not show any calculus either in supra or sub gingival area.

Periodontal disease is easy to detect, prevent and cure removing parasites, orange and red bacterial complexes and removal of White Blood Cells including Neutrophils and Macrochages from the infected periodontal pocket. This can be done with a simple procedure : microscopic monitoring plaque specimen from the affected pocket. It only takes 5 minutes and is no pain procedure. Using desinfectant, dessicants and appropriate medication with patient appropriate hygiene training brings back commensal healthy biofilm (Periodontal Healing Protocol Bonner Dunoyé 2014). Keeping this normal biofilm for about 12 months, monitored mensually with phase contrast microscopy renders periodontal cure easily available for most patients. Calculus removal is easy to complete from 5 month disinfection and return to normal microbiota. As Periodontal Disease is defined as Microbial Dysbiosis with Inflammatory Dysregulation with bone loss consequence, it is urgent to use microscopic technology to confirm and correct those parameters. Restriction in treatment to modifiying factors such as smoking, diabetis and genetic constitute a total imposture toward medical procedures and healing.
