An interesting fact unknown to me before is that Field was the inventor of the nocturne. A lovely piece. It probably wasn't difficult for you to play it right off the sheet the first time. Beautifully played. Thanks!

Very interesting the syncopated rhythm around the first minute that renders an atmosphere that is extremely advanced for the period and that creates a stunning contrast with the traditional Siciliano rhythm (a dreamy melody, almost nocturnal). The suspenseful end when you believe the dreamy melody will never end is another coup de genie ..... and very well played
I didn't know this small jewel although I am a big fan of Field (including the gorgeous piano concertos)

What a gem.... I always lament that John Field is so rarely played. He is a wonderful composer and deserves much better! Thank you for this beautiful piece. 💕

Love Field! I’ve played all of his Nocturnes over the years, but haven’t gone back to check out these other gems! I often forget how little known he is.

조셉 필드는 같은 고전파 출신들과 뭔가 다른매력이 있다.

You play perfect.. Thank you!
Field is known in Russia, of course, not as widely as Glinka or Tchaikovsky, but known .. and loved .. I visited his grave in Moscow several times ..

Эта темочка в точности как главная тема в трехголосной инвенции Баха ми минор

Now I see why Chopin always has an introduction in his Ballades and even in the impromptus and valses ! Oompah Oompaaahpaah! John Field was a sensation in his day and now I see WHY! Whn this music is well played one sees where Chopin comes and how he flowered with his genius . So this makes me want to find Kalkbrenner and know more about MOscheles who I already know is wonderful ! So I will seek andfind more 19th century savants !
