I have such weird nostalgia for early GoldSrc aesthetic. Even before our dial up was good enough to handle multiplayer matches in early CS builds I used to just walk around the empty maps. There was an eerie, cavernous beauty to them.
ОтветитьI keep coming back to this video, over half a decade later. There's something that I find deeply compelling about Goldsource mods.
Ответить“Yipe-ers”?
Dude, you’re making Americans seem even dumber than we are…
To be fair about the balance in these maps you are playing like a CONSOLE PLAYER
ОтветитьI hate to do it, but as a Londoner I have to point out that it's Tower Bridge in the London section of Timelines 2 - the lifting bridge with the four towers that everyone is familiar with. London Bridge is the next bridge West along the river, linking the area of the same name on the South, and Bank in the North. It's a relatively plain fixed bridge that most people probably wouldn't be able to pick out of a lineup.
ОтветитьI was expecting an out of nowhere twist that Timelines was made by the person who'd go on to make Timesplitters, because it feels just like that game series.
ОтветитьTimeline's difficulty wasn't intentional, it's what happens when an inexperienced level designer is the only person who playtests their levels. Innate knowledge of level geometry, triggers, enemy placement/encounters and level progression means that they naturally use and manage resources in a very different way to how someone playing blind will. For this reason he likely found it too easy, and would have tuned it according to his own experience, leading to the resource scarcity you mentioned.
ОтветитьMy favorite HL mod is Gunman Chronicles.
ОтветитьThey Hunger honestly nails the zombies; sure, their lines can be goofy but when they moan "why do we hunger?" it feels so genuinely creepy. There's something so unsettling about how they seem to still be somewhat conscious, and even they don't know why they suffer such an intense craving for flesh.
Ответитьwow i remember the units. Classics
ОтветитьWhoa. Lots of incredible gems I personally missed back in the day. Furthermore, this video is game archeaology, and I'll be glad to see more of it. Better than Ross' Game Dungeon.
ОтветитьHaving a sewer level is my gauge for playing games. I've actively refused to start titles if someone tells me there's a sewer section.
ОтветитьNazi's in the White House...video released in 2016...Noah, have the cannabis spirits been guiding you towards prescience?
ОтветитьThis is one of my favorite videos of yours, including your regular Half Life on3 (it being the video that introduced me to Half Life). I’d love it if you made a sequel that covers more or even one about Half Life 2 mods
ОтветитьNever did finish They Hunger. It was too scary for me as a kid.
ОтветитьAbsolute Redemption. 12/10.
ОтветитьThese videos are soothing. Like a warm, enveloping blanket of chungus.
Ответить"Nazis in the White House, obviously a problem." 😳
ОтветитьHave you tried Echoes?
