Which aspect ratio isn't used enough in film?

This is probably a dumb question, but can you mix expect ratios in a film or if you were planning to mix aspect ratios in a film would it be easier just to keep it 2:1 ?

The dark knight rises, man.... ratios are dynamic, they change according to the mood, i mean single movies with multiple ratios. Lovely

I used to really dislike vertical video, and for a narrative film, I still prefer a landscape format. But, for social media content etc, I see that it works well, because most people view this type of content on their phone, vertically.

actaully my aim is just to watch movies ,

in 16:9 in many movies top and bottom part become black

so just want to know which aspect ration monitor will be best for me to watch movies
is that 21:xx something

i dont know can any one suggest , becuase if i got wider width then not many movies are in that format so right and left space will become black

I have been using 16:9 because it is the size of my computer screen, I thought I was going to do computer animation strictly for internet, but now I am considering going to film festivals. I've put a lot of work into the scenery and scenes. It is going to be from a cat's point of view, so I think I want to use a higher aspect ratio to capture the height of things. I kind a also want to capture the large scenery as well, I might stick to 16:9 but I am considering the 1.85:1. I think this is what Blender studios used for their latest film and I think it looks good. I am going to have to experiment on this. Thanks for your info.

Can I change aspect ratios according to each scene mood in one movie instead of using 1 aspect ratio throughout?

I totally desagree with you about shot in 1.85.1 is better for catch taller things or into vertical, i shot into 2.55.1 and i can have exactly the same vertical or taller things than any aspect ratio used., but with much wider detailed screen from its origin thats all, accept if its a cropped screen for sure. I shot with my smartphone with modifed cam on it. This is what Cinemascope is all about. I think that its just a question of choice, not much.

2:1 aspect ratio also known as univisium is perfect to capture 2.39's width & 1.85's height.

Interesting watching aspect ratio 1.85:1 1.90:1 2.00:1 all pretty much look the same on your tv even though 1.90:1 has more height

This is very ignorant. The most cinematic is the one that always fills your screen. People don't go out and buy bigger screens (TV's) to see smaller content. People don't go to cinemas to see smaller content. To call something more cinematic especially in regards to aspect ratio is nothing but hype. It's an easy way to charge you more and give you less. I try not to buy anything that doesn't feel my TV screen.
