I didn't have the apple motion. How it worked for me was by opening the .moti file and deleting the separator layer section. E.g: <layer name="Separators" id=""> ... </layer>

This was great! The problem is our plug-ins have multiple Items. How can you change the settings of them all at the same time rather than individually going through each? That woulnd't be possible with the majority of our plug-ins.

Actually, for me, it was a hell of a lot easier just to reinstall the title or effect. Most of mine are from Motion VFx so I just used their installer to painlessly fix it in seconds.
