I am very excited for Mario Party Jamboree! Me and my sister both agree that it feels like the Mario Party games we loved as kids.

Mario Party 8 is better than the first 3 hands down (love the first 3)

The only reason I ever had to play Mario party 9 was because of the minigames. They were actually super good, especially the Bowser Jr. Boss fight like that's an amazing minigame to play with friends. But that's the only reason I played it

I think Mario Party 6 is the best, because of the day/night mechanic. It's a gimmick, but it's not intrusive, and it ads a bit of strategy. I wish day cycles were a staple in more Nintendo games.

Also only like 2 years ago I found out you can play mic minigames with a controller

Mario Party Advance is an amasing game, but it definitely should've been multiplayer and had more playable characters.

I grew up with MP9 so there is that nostalgia factor, but I love it and a lot of people I showed the game to, also loved it

Am I the only one who prefers the aesthetic style of the N64 MP games? In the n64 games, the characters and the boards actually look like handcrafted boards, and the characters are like the player pieces. In the games from MP4 and onwards, they try to make the boards seem like actual worlds with the Mario characters in them. I'm probably in the minority but there's a reason I always prefer to go back to the N64 style games.

ND cube is primarily made of former Hudson developers, specifically the ones involved in Mario Party. I think they just got bored with the series and wanted to do something different.

Surprised you didn't talk about the absolutely broken ally mechanic and character-specific dice in Super Mario Party which pretty much made landing on ally spaces the entire meta of every board, even more so than collecting stars. It didn't necessarily make the game unplayable but it was rather silly the way it was implemented. They made it kinda more balanced in Jamboree...kinda.

While on vacation with my best friend we had tons of long flixbus rides so we decided to bring our 3DSs. We played basically everything from Mario Party Island Tour and tbh it was fun but not that much after a few games, even when the “luck” element was low it actually was super important and we hated that. We ended up playing basically only Mario Tennis lol

I also really hate super Mario party. The boards in that game felt especially small and boring so you just felt like you were going in the same circles over and over and the helper characters just made you go in circles faster. I’ve never been the biggest fan of the franchise but seeing the “bad games” listed here it might just be that I’ve never played a good Mario party game. I remember watching my family play 8 but I would have been very little and we didn’t have enough Wii remotes for everyone to play.

Super Mario Party Jamboree seems like the best of both worlds from Super and Superstars. 2 throwback boards, 5 fully original boards with genuinely unique mechanics and items (Even the throw back boards have unique items), motion minigames but the option to go with non motion games is there, side modes that feel on par with older entries side modes, and a whole ass party planner that gives me vibes of the better ideas of 9 and 10. Mario Party kept landing on bowser spaces for a while there, but now... I can safely say they are out of their rut~

I feel like NDCube and Hudson have had their good and bad games. For Hudson I feel like 1,4 and Advance were total flops but games like 2,3,6, and 8 were home runs. As for NDCube I feel like all the 3DS games were flops but Super and Superstars were very good while Jamboree was a grandslam. I’m also not afraid to say I really enjoy 9 and 10.

I dont have a major favorite video game tier list (just a definitive top 1 with mario galaxy 1) but if i were to make a top 10, mario party 8 and DS would be on there somewhere

Honestly 4-8 + DS are always my favorites and interchangeable for me. My BF and I play whichever one depending on how we're feeling, but they're all fantastic and fun

One issue i do have when it came to Super Mario Party was the character die's....those where completely unbalanced, characters like Yoshi and Daisy had a dice that was effectively worthless, other die's where either too inconsistent or really situational....but then you had Bowser, Wario and Boo who had the most broken die's because they where incredibly good.

I have yet to pick up the new entry being Super Mario Party Jamboree, but they have seem to have learned from their past mistakes as the game actually looks good with it being a mix of old and new

9, 10 and Island tour were the best ones that I grew up with. Now its gone to trash and its like apple re-releseing the same Iphone every year with SLIGHT inprovments

By saying the Dark Era of Mario Party was 2012-2021 you practically said that Mario Party Superstars is a part of the Mario Party Dark Era which is strange considering that you've expressed how better of a game Superstars is compared to Super Mario Party what you should've said was 2012-2018 as Super Mario Party was the only Mario Party game that came out in 2018 and Mario Party Superstars being the only Mario Party game that came out in 2021

Everyone complains about the boards in the supposedly bad Mario Party games ad if it's not the mini games that make a Mario party good or bad. Hence why the Island one on the 3DS was my personal favorite.

Mario Party Advance is highly misunderstood, largely because of the name, unfortunately. It's more of a Mario Party RPG than a true Mario Party entry. It's rated poorly because everyone expects it to be Mario Party when it's more like a solo RPG with Mario Party/Wario Ware elements.

Mario Party 8 is really easy to hate because it looks and feels very weird compared to the previous titles despite still playing very well. I think if 9 and 10 were direct upgrades of 8 instead of wild departures they would've actually been the best titles in the series.

my boyfriends first and only Mario Party was Mario Party 9 so when we played Mario Party Superstars he was like "...where's the car..?"

Mario party 9 is my favorite due to being my first.

mario party 9 is overhated it was a blast to play with my family growing up and i loved the old style like when your separate and im glad you said MP9 had good minigames and it does has some strategy to it but my fave MP is DS by a landslide
