Helmet looks like a Scorpion EXO-1400 Evo Carbon Air, a reasonably cheap carbon fibre ACU gold helmet.

The strip of tape on the visor is a makeshift sun strip. The helmet does have a built in sun visor 🤔

I am not a chemical engineer, but I think Gemini's description of the effect of hydrochloric acid on stainless steel may be accurate "Hydrochloric acid damages stainless steel by dissolving the protective passive layer (a thin layer of chromium oxide) that normally prevents corrosion, leading to active corrosion, pitting, and potentially stress corrosion cracking".

For information, the SDS for Solvol Bluing Remover, shows it contains between 10% - 25% hydrochloric acid while the Harpic Power Plus 10x SDS gives a figure of between 25% - 30%. Make of that what you will.
