The standout for me on the Amiga is the blitter and that buttery smooth scrolling — coming from the previous 8-bit machines this was a big thing BITD. I remember a few of the titles, Gods, Alien Breed, R-Type, Turrican etc. The memories I cherish though are the productivity applications, DPaint, Impulse's Imagine, Real3d, Sculpt and for music Noise Tracker and Pro Tracker.
Like others I know, the Amiga lead to a career in 3D modeling and animation e.g. working in Newtek's Lightwave.
Cool work 👍
ОтветитьGreta video, but im surprised Robocop 3 gets left off so many of these lists!
ОтветитьNo superfrog?
ОтветитьThanks 😊 i played to 50% of these games back in the time 😅
ОтветитьThe top five thousand games from the 15 bit era!!!
ОтветитьGreat collection!
ОтветитьPegasus was awesome man. I remember playing it when i was 5 or so. The game had like 12 floppy disks
ОтветитьYAAA BAAA DEEEE
ОтветитьOn escape???!!! Holy crap, this games looks so good
ОтветитьStill have my Amiga 500 with all the hardware that comes with it, Pinball Dreams - Nightmare was / is an amazing game specially the audio. Great video, many memories.
ОтветитьMyth ??
ОтветитьThere was a rather good Amiga game that I used to play in my youth. One of the last games that I bought for Amiga, and thanks to this video, I now know the name: Woody's World. Cheers! To be brutally honest, I think by far most of the Amiga games that I've ever played weren't good even back then. But there are certainly some gems too. I remember that when we finally got our first PC, it was hard to find any decent games for it so Amiga held its ground for a year or two as the main gaming device.
Did I see Space Crusade on this video? I don't think I did. Definitely one of the best Amiga games that I've played.
One game you forgot to mention, Street Rod 1 & 2!
I used to play the hell out of those games on my Commodore Amiga, fixin up my own cars takin them out for spins!
Had a lot of my friends over in awe bc i had a gaming rig lol
Even if it was released in 85, the same year as i was born, the system had a really long lifetime.
I had an Amiga 1200 (I still have it) and lots of great games that I also had myself. But what about Wings of Fury? That's definitely missing here.
ОтветитьThese lists are great, I nearly always see a game I haven’t thought of in years
ОтветитьNo.1 Flashback....
ОтветитьFantastic! I recently bought the Amiga Mini and going through which games to add, this helped a lot!
ОтветитьCan we all just please appreciate how Leander is amazeballs, the music, graphics, atmos, great game, The Amiga was the place for the best platform games and generally the best range of games until Pc's got good and Doom took over the world lol.
ОтветитьArmour Geddon was one hell of a good 3D game for Amiga.... day night cycles and great story...
ОтветитьMy favourite - Rick Dangerous part 1 and 2. Speedball 2, Turrican 2, Fury on a Furies, Sensible Soccer, Cannon Fodder, Settlers and finally - Hired Guns! No idea if all were there... Hired Guns was first FPS in my life played with friends.
ОтветитьAre these arcade games based on the Amiga chipset?
I’m diehard Amiga fan and don’t remember games this good!
I've just reacquired an Amiga 500 again with a 1084S monitor and Gotek drive after all these years and reliving these great games now in their true glory.
ОтветитьI miss Super Cars 2, and Dogs of war on that list :)
ОтветитьPlenty left out, but a very good (not "super") representation of Amiga gaming.
Ответитьwhy the frame rate of flood is so low, and r-type 2 or 3 could have been mode 6 virtual 3d ship shooter, also jagged alliance/2 would be simple to port to real amiga hardware, syndicate is so cannon fodder, also "noita" style cave shooter game would work on amiga pretty well, why not many of those
ОтветитьNo Troddlers, boulder dash or IK+😔 those were by far the best games i played on my Amiga 500.
ОтветитьFury of the Furries 👍🕶
ОтветитьThank you for this video, it kick started my memory of these classics
ОтветитьI had fun watching the entire video! Sad to see how generally these games get omitted by all the Amiga game vids I've been checking out
- Nitro
- Wings of Fury
- Earl Weaver Baseball+manager expansion
- Wayne Gretzky Hockey + league expansion pack
- Speedball 1
- Dino Dini Kick Off
Mediocre ports from other consoles or arcades should not count as essential Amiga games, especially for a video made in 2022
ОтветитьWonderful that you uploaded hi-res gameplay, let the games speak for themselves, and gave ample time to appreciate the gameplay!
ОтветитьUsed to have a 500+ oh the memories. Hoping to download an emulator soon.
ОтветитьI had everyone of these games , all pirated , I had 1000s of Amiga disks in the 90s , the Amiga was the council estate kids megadrive , it was so easy to get cracked games for it
ОтветитьAnd yes i miss a lot of other great games that also was on the Amiga computers, like:

Alien Breed 3D II

Breathless

And many other great games on the Amiga, but i understand you miss them, there are a LOT of
games on the Amiga Computers.
The Amiga had fantastic games, i got 43 original games for my Amiga CD32, i wish
Commodore had a much better CEO, Mehdi Ali ended Commodore and so Amiga.
They should have done what the experts say working on the hardware of Amiga,
like using the AAA graphics chip and not already outdated AGA graphics chip, and
16 bit audio, but no about everything was the same as the Amiga 500, the biggest
update was the AGA, and on the Amiga 4000 Zorro 3, but that was already on the
Amiga 3000, that that had already Zorro III.
If they made the Amiga CD32 with at least 4 or 8MB fast RAM and a 68030 50MHz
CPU, and bring the Amiga CD32 on the market in januari of 1993, it could have been
a super hit, and absolutely with a AAA graphics chip and 16 bit audio, buy you got
people like Mehdi Ali in charge of Commodore.
Some real crap on this list. And I don't trust any Amiga "essential" list that leaves Settlers off.
ОтветитьBellissimo video, un bel salto nel passato però manca il mio gioco preferito.
Logical!
Captures of many games like Superfrog only shows 25/30fps when the game was running at 50fps (PAL).
ОтветитьNOSTALGIA TRIGGERED! 🎉
ОтветитьThanks for Pegasus, I did'nt know this game and it looks excellent. And again thanks for "exotic" games like Hostages (I had Alcatraz in the same kind) and Persian Golf Inferno
ОтветитьOh man, I adored this system back in the day, great vid 👍
ОтветитьNostalgic and childhood memories.
Ответитьi don't see "Dungeon master", "Eye of the beholder" and "Sim city"... i think was beautiful games!
ОтветитьHow come they look so good here the dont on mz 500
ОтветитьNice one, but I think it needed to be 200 essential Amiga games.
Ответитьje n'ai pas vu croisière pour un cadavre (cruise for a corpse) dommage c'était un de mes préférés
Ответить
