i have dual xeons, using fl studio, i have plenty of processing overhead and speed. but i have and issue with most DAW's, were changing something thats memory related. any KNOB anywhere pretty much while playing, freezes the DAW, still runs and no glitchy sound and rest of my computer is outside the daw is fine and not frozen but i believe the memory being shared between the 2 processors is causing the enraging lag. when i just run 1 cpu its fine. turning NUMA mode, hyper threading off with dual cpu and turning plugins all NATIVE Bit helped but its still does this it happens far to often.. my memory is 8gb ECC 1600mhz per processor(16gb shared) so a 5gb project is running all local on ram . its like there is a major bug in all DAWs when the memory is split to much and the 3.9ghz QPI link between the two processors to share memory MAXs out. any ideas?
running pluggins like adaptaverb (izotopes line up of mastering tools) and processing editing Flacs+instruments and stuff so high processing but i channel everything to run no more then 50% on any core total load no more then 60%
you might know something i cant find :P
