So... Is the Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Any Good? (Spoiler Free Review)

I just want a full, 6 to 7 hour campaign with “Clean House” and “Zero Dark Thirty” vibes. Maybe a few guns blazing missions here and there.

This was the most underwhelming campaign I ever played in the modern warfare universe, I didn’t like the “weapons free” open combat type missions seemed real copy and paste with the defusing bombs or hacking the question marks. I personally like being apart of a team on a op rather than being solo running around looking through crates for weapons and plates ? This campaign was just awful and super short the old modern warfare 3 campaign l was incredibly better smh I’d rate this 0 out of 5

The detail in the game in 4KU is incredible. If you hang out in an area for a bit, the sun will rotate in real time.
The missions are familiar. Not difficult, but the campaign is noticeably short. It felt rushed, or like it needed more.

It was pretty underwhelming story wise and gameplay was dry. Also, the inconsistent new movement mission to mission was weird and kinda tells me some of it was maybe intended to be mw2 or developed during it. Didn’t hate it on the whole, just felt a bit uninspired. Fairly enjoyed the apartment complex climb mission with Gaz. That felt fun.

The campaign was garbage! Boring…. Predictable…. No big cod moments. Straight garbage!

The campaign just solidified MW3 multiplayer content was all that was planned and it was just supposed to be DLC.. sad part is Sledgehammer will take crap for Activision probably forcing them to create this in like 9 months

If the best thing about the game's campaign is the after credit cutscene, it shows how much effort was put into the game. Unfortunate. Was really thinking about buying it but after watching several reviews about the campaign I might just stay F2P this year, as the MP didn't wow me either.

I enjoyed the story of the campaign except for the abrupt ending, gameplay wise it was boring and sluggish. Definitely wasn’t worth $70, so hopefully multiplayer and zombies are atleast good… right?

4/10 on this campaign. Underwhelming play, like you I thought there would be more and there wasn’t. Didn’t help the story at all.

5/10 campaign. I somewhat enjoyed the first few weapons free missions, but man it felt EMPTY story-wise. Clearly half baked and rushed and that’s really unfortunate. We should have had a different game in between MW2-MW3 to give them more time to create a complete story.

Will they polish the mulitplayer graphics and get rid of that fog or haze?

I think it's just me love the campaign. I do like the open area concept go loud if you want or stealth mode. I like that some of the missions are like a one-way road, then other open. Good mix up. I loved all the campaigns expect advanced warfare. not goanna spoil anything. But veteran mode is not that hard. done within couple hours because of the cinematic parts. I play all games on hardest difficulty. Just doesn't feel right when you play it any less. But all in all, great campaign can't wait for the next one.

If they finish this story in warzone or those couple of missions they did after MW2 I'll be furious. Killing a big character like Farah's brother on spec ops missions was a stupid decision

This campaign is pretty terrible. I haven’t fully played a campaign in years but I was ready to stop playing after passenger just because the story alone.

we want scripted action with engaging characters, the poor in their synthetic lives they do what they can, but are so spoiled...
and what's more, it's all crappy infiltration missions, there's no war going on, it's modern WARfare dammit, it's not complicated, you get guns and tanks and bam, it shoots and explodes, it's cool...
"Yeah, no, we'd rather have you infiltrate a villa on an island with mercenaries as dumb as street lamps and alarms..." that's the end of the legend, there were already some questionable game design choices last year in MWII, but hey, there were some good things too. This is an absolute zero.

MW3 is literally categorized as MW2 DLC in the game files call it for what it is. It's MW2 DLC for $70-$100

I liked it. It has good missions and the open world levels were a nice change of pace BUT at the sacrifice of the camaraderie that COD was founded on in 2003. The ending hit a little less hard compared to the original MW story arc.

One of the worst, stale, most underwhelming campaigns in awhile.

The one line I found comical was durning the Danger Close mission where you're in the AC130.. The first tank that comes out of the bunker, when you destroy it the ground team says "Tank is destroyed" to which Graves replies ... "Good, I hate those things". I thought it was a cool recall to the end of MW2 when he wasn't actually in the tank.

Just got done with it, really didn’t like that the majority of the game they only gave us MWII weapons. Also none of the missions felt memorable, story was good but felt short. If there is a MW4 I hope they go big and limit the “open world” missions.

I did the dam mission full stealth, the enemy never got to fire a weapon, which was super fun, but everything else in the campaign was just ok

The campaign is a 2/10 for me. 3 or 4 outta 10 is too generous for me.

The story was good and then it just ended and it ended terribly.. soap goes out that fast and like that?? Cmon man we need more story

Ending was so anticlimactic, feels like the story went NO WHERE. Easily the worst out of fhe MW reboot and imo one of the worst cod campaigns, almost as bad as BO4s campaign

I think it just felt very .. unfinished. Almost like they needed another 6 months to finish but the boss was like "just close it off team, that will do".

I wasn't expecting much from campaign I bought it for the multiplayer maps from back in the day I've been missing those maps

It is DLC no question. For me the worst COD campaign ever. It is very short, nothing original, open combat missions are boring. Waste of time!

I haven’t watched the video yet but in my opinion it felt like a warzone DMZ type of thing it didn’t feel like a campaign, the graphics were great though and on another note I’m not finished with it yet

I actually was super happy with this campaign. Virtually no bugs, smooth gameplay, and an actual little playground I can goof around in while still staying fresh for PvP.

Also, the cutscenes and graphics were very well done

It was trash. Don't sugar coat. I just finished it.

this will be the last thing i ever purchase cod related . they are finished just like fort . i’ll leave it to the kids haha 😅 time hang up the gaming controller
