this is nothing like a trick. this phone does the frame drop only when you don't record and enable guided access.

so if you have to play on 90fps you can play as normal with guided access OFF. but as you enable guided access it will drop to like 40fps even.

So if you enable recording and guided access it comes back to 90fps as normal. This is not a trick that you do. but actually what the phone does itself. which is kinda bad that this powerful device is not able to optimize the pro motion to handle 120hz stable all the time. There is no issue in the game or so. it is just the phone itself that has added a pro motion option which changes screen rate according to your touch rate.

You can try and see if you need to feel the difference. enable 90fps in game. and enable guided. then go in TDM or classic. do a fast touch on your device screen and you will notice it stops the dropping of fps automaticaxlly.

hope apple is going to fix it with there newer version of the phone that is going to lauch soon iphone 15.

Hi there. No sure if I can still comment. I recently when from Android to iphone 14 pro max. Not trying to record but trying to get consistent 90 fps. Is it better with guided access on or off. Feel like there is more frame drops with guided access on. I also purchase a back fan which I notice helps a lot. Would you recommend guided access on?

Worst time to upgrade from 12 PM to 13 PM for the 90 fps. I noticed since iOS 16.5.1 that as soon as I activate guided access, 90 fps gets off, settling to 60 fps. Only workaround is to screen record if you wanna play at 90 fps while using guided access. Hope it gets fixed soon
