Rules:
Refer to previous videos, I want the description to fit this time
1. Shiva- I’ve already uploaded a video on Shiva where I go in-depth on the strategy to beat him, so I will be brief here. For the superbosses, I decided to hold back any restraints and start incense/balm farming (something made easier on Godborn thanks to Gustave opening up his entire inventory to us) while respecting the 425 cap I set for myself. However for Shiva, I actually saw no need to raise everyone past the 300s. The best way I can describe fighting Shiva this way is fighting regular Shiva at level 80. Additionally, the saving grace of this fight is that Shiva only has 175 VIT, which is shockingly low for Godborn, making damage in the 300s meaningful. But beyond that, not much else to say.
2. Trucifer- Trucifer, short for “True Lucifer” is the harder version of the fallen angel unlocked by beating Shiva, Khonsu Ra, Fionn 2, and Zaou Gongen. In the CoV route, if the requirements are met, you get the choice of fighting Matter Lucifer or Trucifer and, unlike vanilla SMTV, Trucy has seen a massive buff! Before, he was a pathetic level 90 boss… unlocked by beating a level 96 superboss… Now in normal play, he’s scaled up to level 99, hence why I count him as a Superboss, and packs a meatier punch. However since this is Godborn, he’s level 150 like everything else. Trucy has three distinct phases which I will break down in points:
a. First Form- The same as his normal variation but with less health. Just like that one, you cannot reasonably one-shot the starts, but you still have to attack Trucy at least once to prevent a follow-up action due to his trait. Agrat does a great job at fulfilling this role as Queen’s Decree is really consistent with landing crits on the stars and hitting Trucy.
b. Demi-Fiend Form- The second phase is where the real fight starts. Trucy flat out plagiarizes most of Demi-Fiend’s unique skills from Nocturne, some of which don’t actually appear in Demi-Fiend’s boss fight. Those include Wild Dance, which is a high confusion chance on everyone, Xeros Beat, an all-target physical that inflicts Mirage, and Magma Axis, which is Fire of Sinai held up to its namesake. However, while Trucy copied Demi-Fiend’s moveset, he does have a couple of unique skills of his own. Contempt of God raises his action count from 2 to 4 next turn, Hot Dark Matter replaces Cold Dark Matter and maximizes his attack, and Holy Crucifixion minimizes one party member’s stats. Finally, his trait makes it so if he lands a crit, a said party member may return to the stock. The big issue with this phase is that my entire party nulls physical and no physical attack he has pierces (not even Gaea Rage) so the only thing that can hurt us is Magma Axis and Freikugel, both of which he only uses once and the latter does not crit. Also, if you notice me stalling a lot in this phase, it’s because I want to save my big damage for the last phase and don’t want to end this one too quickly.
c. God Form- For his final phase, Trucy switches back to his first stance at half HP but gains a few new tools. He now plagiarizes (Record Scratch)’s “Elementals of God” from SMTIV Apocalypse, which are just fancier versions of the Ma-Barion skills. He also gains access to Evil Gleam, his unique charm skill from Nocturne, but he never uses it. But most alarmingly is that the Falling Stars now become his unique skill from Persona, the Morning Star, which makes him weak to the 4 Tetra Elements but hits the entire party for colossal almighty damage. Party Members can survive one Morning Star thanks to Enduring Soul, but all of them unfortunately go down to the second one. However, Nahobino can dodge tank it with Luminescent Mirage and by the time my demons die, I’m in a comfortable position to end the fight with just Nahobino.
