I think the whole point is that if a person goes through such unbearable pain and suffering he/she will be completely consumed from sorrow and from the unbearable hate he/she will become a monster too with the sole purpose to make the world feel exactly their suffering.
With all of the trauma that Lucy has suffered she accepts that the entire world wants to torture her and kill her and from her point of view the human race it’s like parasites who they not only kill the planet slowly but they mostly kill for their own selfish reasons and for their pleasure.
About Nana if she didn’t had that guy Kurama to hold on in mentally then I think she could have become like Lucy if not worse.

Ok. Now imagine her team up with Kratos in Mortal Combat 1 Remake.

The amount of people who saw this much younger than let's say 16..or 18 is quite unsettling. This is one of the most disturbing and extreme cartoons I've ever seen (and anyone asking, I saw the LIED at 14, I'm a devil-worshipper) and I've seen hentais and very adult cartoon stuff like WALTZ WITH BASHIR and FRITZ THE CAT. Even if it wasn't animated, my goodness!

I remember watching Elfen lied and I'm going to be honest. It only made me emotional but it also scarred me a little bit just because of the fact of the. The s*** that went down was unbelievable but seeing Nana getting her arms and her legs torn off almost made me want to vomit a bit lol
