Using a MacOs M1/M2 with Cinema4d and Redshift Render for Production

I have m1 max and its horrible with cinema 4d redshift.not able to render even simple scenes with redshift.

Hi I have a M1 MAX and I can say that for the price works really really bad. This cheap is not optimized for 3D like Cinema 4D, I was in contact with Maxon support for some bugs and they say that this M1 is not very good and compatible with redshift, and the problem is from the MAC side and they are trying to work on that.

you don't need plugins on both machines do you? or is it just grabbing the rendering output and propagating it to the pc gpu?

It's work, finally i can render RS on macbook chip m1.
If rs is not appear on toolbar, go preference > renderer > Rs > Enable Rs main menu.
Open Edit render setting, choose Reshift.

Hi Leon, I just ran into this video.. I am using an M1 max and a Windows machine as team-render too, and that works really well! However, I notice a difference in color/lightness of the chunks rendered in Win vs the chunks coming from the Mac. I don't see this happening in your example. Did you experience this too and maybe solved it? I can't figure out what causes the difference.

I don't know. If you do one 3d job it could be fine but why would you do professional work on mac book air. :D

How much was the PC? I have 5x M1 Mac minis ($5,790 NZD (4K USD)) and they smoke any PC set up I've put it up against of a similar price!

M1 for motion 3D is so bad. I render 10 sec video from Cinema 4D like 11 hours. Also I have about 0 fps 200000-300000 objects in port view, its slower then my old budget risen 3600 from 2019. I can do single 3D models like 30 million polliogns max and thats all. For example my risen 3600 can doo about 300 million 10x. 5x time from M1 Max it will be still super bad becose Quadro Nvidia card and amd/intell mobile in laptops from 2021 still doing 20x more in 3D.

want to be more mobile with my setup and leave my room and also get in on a mac environment (never used a mac before) so i was really looking forward to these m1's, i'll be waiting for the tomorrows event for the m1x and was going to get one, i'm using octane, i'll try to get the highest spec on ram but do you think should i leave this thought? money is scarse thats why i asked hehe

Let’s see if Apple decide to build its own pci gpu for the next Mac Pros. When it will be available I think we could plug external Apple gpus through TB4 ports also for Mac Minis and Books.
