Originally from Germany, now in US LE and gotta say. Just because the suspect was basically a chemist with a PHD does not mean a thing. As during war 2 or those in the SS etc? Many were Dr's (all fields) lawyers, scientists, professors and so on. One famous member was Werner Von Braun the father of space flight who was in the Nazi party and the SS. Or look at the allies and the atomic bomb all were made by these " smart people" or more accurately smart but with NO common sense, empathy or morals. Point is some of the worlds smartest people can also become some of the worlds most dangerous as history or this guy has shown.

The man who tried to poison them should be in jail for a very long time. As some people have pointed out, he may have used his knowledge previously to harm others so i hope the police aren't lazy and will look further into his background.
