How to get the CATALYST for WICKED IMPLEMENT - Is it any good? - Destiny 2 Season of the Deep

I am one of the lucky ones. Third matchmaking obtained the catalyst. Banner Titan, Arc Hunter, and I played well-lock. Was fairly simple and I have no experience prior. I would like to add- as a solo slower player, I like this gun as it allows me to control the boss most of the time (not always).

3rd MM attempt we did tier 7. Jumped on tonight before end of season and thought I'd give it a go. I guess the gifts and everything went in our favour. Maybe the catalyst change will make it better for stasis build next season... Maybe

They should make it an SMG

Do you need to have the scout equipped and use it to get the cat, or do you just need to have the scout unlocked??

I did a tier 7 through matchmaking yesterday to get my catalyst.

Just wanted to let fellow guardians know that it is possible to get it to drop on a tier 5 as my mate got his on a tier 5, but it's down to RNG. So if you fail to get a tier 7 with blueberries, don't quit as there's still a possibility that you may get it to drop.

Not gonna lie i got it at tier 6, with a lfg group, i did not even know that it drop, i was doing my seasonal story after reset i open the chest and got it as a reward

Correction, you don’t have to do a 7 tier to get the catalyst. It’s just guaranteed. Lower tiers have a lower chance. Wife got hers without getting the last pressure trial to activate

I tried 8 times on LFG and could only get boss down to 1/4 of health left before time ran out. Think I'm spent on trying to get the Scout.

I agree with Aztecross that the catalyst needs to give the gun something like headstone, collective action, focused fury, triple tap, etc. I haven't bothered even going for the gun because the idea of a stasis scout just isn't intriguing. I'd rather just use Verglass Curve.

Ornament looks so good but the gun is so underwhelming that I can't pull the trigger to buy it. Pun mostly unintended

I hope so much that the seasonal artifact interacts heavily with stasis shards. Then we’re talking my friend.

It’s really only good in hard content. Cuz you just one or two tap ads. Where you’re needing to put a lot of ammo into a guy it’s actually pretty good. I like scouts though, so maybe I’m biased.

Got it first try with matchmaking tier 7. 1 wipe at the boss.
I know bng is getting alot of heat for matchmaking this quest but as a mostly solo player I'm so glad they did. I do think it should be an option but I also wish there was a dungeon matchmaking option as well.
