Odysseus, with the help of a bonk on the noggin from the wand of Athene, was made to look like a proper, old beggar. His own wife didn't recognize him. Homer didn't illustrate "The Odyssey", but if he had, I'm not sure a Superman/Clark Kent vibe would've gone down so well as it does here. Just occurred to me began as I began watching this. I'm right at the end of my second pass on the book and I'm a bit hungry to see some brave son of Laertes kicking suitor butt from Ithaca to Athens and then from Athens to Antarctica. Whoo! Let's go!

This depiction is likly the worst of the once shown stringing the bow. The reson every1 failed was becouse they tried to bend the bow using brute force which would have been impossable. The reson the king managed to do it was becouse he used hes leg to act as a point of leverage and bend the bow on a specific point. It wouldent have required mutch force atall if done right. But here they show the king doing the same as any other man that tried. He was also made to look like a very old man by 1 of the gods and no1 other then hes son would recognize him. Here he looks the same all the time. It was also meant to be done with the queen and every other man present and as soon as he made the shoot the disquise would be lifted and every1 would se the true king hade returned home. This dipiction is an insult and a disaster.
