i remember this movie so badly because of how me and my friends watched it and at the end of the movie we all sobbed and cried like dumbasses. it was like an impact for all of us and it was amazing.

Watching Soul and other great movies was the best thing to watch in my 4th Semester

This movie broke me existentially and emotionally this was a masterclass in story telling

I'm going to watch this movie today- it's back in the movie theaters along with a few other Pixar Films.

Soul found me at the nadir of my mental state and it helped change the way I think about my self worth. When Joe is sitting at the piano and reminiscing about his life and his relationship with his father, if I’m not ugly crying I’m tearing up and if I’m not tearing up I’m getting choked up. Soul is a masterpiece in my book and it never fails to pick me up when I’ve fallen.

I hated this movie only because of the ending. In the end, he didn't actually sacrifice anything. He still got what he wanted. Onward was much better with it.

I hope Cinema Therapy, especially Alan, watches this. This is an amazing essay!!! :D

Ive cried a Lot watching this movie bc, i'm in that point of life where i'm what i wanted to be when I was a kid, but it feels really mixed like peaceful and sad, in one side i'm feeling really peaceful bc i'm economically stable, and on the other side, i'm feeling really sad bc Ive sacrifice Friends, love, sleep, a Lot of things that me having 23 years old would need to experience.

I think a spark is not exactly a need either. Acknowledging inner values and needs could be a first step but could also drives you to an other obsession from "i have to find my purpose" to "i have to fulfill my needs".
It's deeper than that at a spiritual level, it is more elusive. For me it is about a deep desire to live, it has a sense of curiosity, of joy, contentment and gratitude in the present moment. Entering into your spiritual dimension, anchored in your body.
It is just being ! you don't have to pursue it, just to live it !
It doesn't have to be great nor wonderful, it's okay, you can forget any kind of progress, project or accomplishement for a moment and leave you in peace right now

i wanna be a rockstar but i need to be a warrior

one of the key lessons about Soul is that it's important to find joy and meaning in life, not just through a single passion or purpose, but by appreciating the little moments, connections with others, and the beauty of existence itself.

All my life, I’ve been obsessed with fame and fortune. My thinking is it will solve all my problems and insecurities. My dream is to write and direct a major Hollywood film. Fortunately, I’m about to get that dream next year which will make me a multi-millionaire. I figured once I do this huge thing. My life can finally begin. I can get my “revenge” for all the people that bullied me in school. I can finally show all those women that turned me down that I have value and that they made a mistake. I will get the mansion, the Range Rover, the Patek Philippe, the beautiful woman I never had. But most of all, I will get the respect and admiration of my peers. This guy who was once broke, a loser, and treated like trash fucking made it. After watching this, I now fear getting what I want. I fear becoming that “celebrity” that you see ODing on the news. I fear becoming alone. At this point, I don’t know what to do with my life anymore. Nothing seems to matter. Nobody seems to care. Now, all this pursuit of greatness and completing my character arc has lost its meaning.

i read somewhere that kinda meant "we already live in the best life that we want". it kept me thinking for a while, but yeah we subconsciously choose the life that we are living today because it somehow made us feel safe and familiar, the life that we'd be happy in it. it doesn't mean we cannot change it if it's not healthy or happy, since we still get to use our rational thinking to direct our behaviors and choices. love what you delivered in the video!

This movie will be considered the best Pixar movie of all time for all those who are still trying to chase their passions. And that includes me.

Although I have a very different view in the hereafter because I'm a Muslim, but I understand Pixar portrays the hereafter as neutral as possible. And it's enough to explain the situation.
