I bought my sleeping bag in REI, and I love it. It's very light, and keeps me warm on very low temperatures. It is expensive, but its worth it.

Oh wow... number one was one of our biggest bombs of rei products. Their shoes and boots have been horrible compared to the ones we had in the 90's. The clothes we have now are a lot better though and the sleeping bags are great. The chair is my favorite item i have right now.
Its not all roses though the last 3 years have been our worst ive seen in the 27 years ive been there. I hoped to hit 30 but it's not the same sadly too much division caused by corporate im over it and out like you.

LNTX has 1000mg sodium - for my hypertension that’s a big no-no. LiquidIV FTW. You don’t need all that sodium every day unless you’re doing strenuous work/workout.

I have an REI DryPoint GTX jacket that I absolutely adore. It’s light weight, packable, adjustable, breathable, and has never failed to keep me dry in all the rain and snow that we get here. I pretty much never leave home without it in Winter, Spring, and Fall.

I recently bought a new backpack after almost ten years using my old Gregory and I wanted to like the Flash 55 so badly. Its affordable, I love the color, lightweight, just all around a great pack. Unfortunately for me the straps were just way too wide. They rubbed against the side of my neck, and I'm super sensitive to my neck being touched so it was a bit torturous. For most people, though, this won't be an issue. Definitely a nice pack!

I ended up with the Deuter Aircontact Ultra and while it's smaller than I would've liked, its so comfortable. I particularly like the more narrow straps!

I'm actually surprised that the REI chair didn't get carried off by a dozen or so balloons. When I was backpacking in Michigan, I was alongside a group of 5 guys who all had these, and at camp they would just get tipped and blown around by the wind anytime somebody wasn't sitting in them.

totally agree on the trailsmith pants! i own both men's and women's, definitely recommend women's. they flipped the script and gave the men's version really shallow pockets, and the women's big multi piece pockets and zippers, super cool!

The cheapest rain jacket REI had like 10 years ago (not sure they still have it) is genuinely one of the best rain jackets I've ever owned.
