I am not a person who likes the same music a year later, 5 years later or 20 years later. I have very little music that I loved in my 20's in the 1990's that I still play on regular rotation, but Santana is a whole other thing. I have the album with the Black man holding a white dove, and I play it about once every month or two. I always hear new things in it--whether it's an instrument that was in the background that I am hearing for the first time, or a small riff or a bass line or just a lyric I have never pondered. It's always new to me in some way. I like everything from Rocksteady, to Roots Reggae, to contemporary Reggae, to hard core punk rock, street punk, post modern (that's you Viagra Boys), psychobilly, very old western/country music (not the ignorant pop crap), and some jazz, but Santana is a classic in my home and life. Bravo, Carlos, Bravo!
ОтветитьPure.... Pure...... JOY*
Ответитьglorious. they complement each other so well
ОтветитьThanks a lot for link this magic art!
ОтветитьStunning solo from John what a player. !
Ответить68 years old going on 69 the last 30 years I've been enjoying Carlos Santana
ОтветитьVirtuosity means nothing without "feeling"- music is made to transmit feelings to other humans and living things - without the soul and passion- it is just noise. These men transmit total feeling and soul. Job well done - all of them.
ОтветитьIt saved me

ОтветитьWell, that ended rather abruptly.
ОтветитьAny band that can make Mclaughlin dance is magical.....
Ответить"Tout est bon chez" eux, "il n'y a rien à jeter"
"sur l'île déserte il faut tout emporter" (G. Brassens)
… weak performance , makes no sense to compare a guitar or any musical instrument to a typewriter , to ask urself who makes the most hits per minute , that would be no music !
ОтветитьEvery time I hear this tune live or on Love Devotion and Surrender, it reminds me of the spiritual route both men persuded. Carlos Santana became Devadip, and John McLaughlin became Mahavishnu.
Is there a live version of Flame Sky, the tune Mahavishnu collaborated with Santana on the Welcome album?
I must add this, my heart sank as I heard the bass player get off. I thought about Doug Rauch, Santana's bassist on Welcome overdosed at 25 years old; skag has claimed so many talented artists. Then a junkie was the priya of the neighborhood, lock em up or if you were lucky, you went to Lexington for a lifetime of methadone. Now, in today's world, an addiction is a sickness, let's send them for treatment; I'm done 😎.
2兄弟の時代
ОтветитьThe two best guitarists to ever grace our planet.
ОтветитьI try to listen to different versions of this whenever I feel tired or depressed. It has this amazing ability to lift my soul. The most transcendant piece of music since Coltrane.
Ответить💖🔥⚡
ОтветитьThe best way to begin 2022.
ОтветитьTotally blown away by this live perform bad ass bass player took this performance to another level. Thank you Mr Santana and Mr. Maclaughlin always in my heart in my soul.
ОтветитьThis is one magic carpet ride !!!
ОтветитьIt's great to see them preform together. Can you image the memories this must bring back for Carlos and John. I still remember them both live from 73 and1974. The atmosphere was intense back then with this musical breakthrough of spirituality.....as being in a musical battle of good vs evil. They brought light into houses that usually had much darkness. People such as my young self in attendance were so greatly influenced to witness God's triumph through the talents of McLaughlin, Santana and their lineup of incredible musicians, Larry Young, Michael Shrieve, Doug Rauch, Armando Peraza etc. That is how my friends and I felt, and so many years later I believe we had it right.
The energy and youth of seeing the shows at that time can't be reproduced, but still I felt occasional reminder chills of the awe and joy of those past shows from watching this video.
I have to say this........Santana's tone was never better and sweeter than when he played that Sunburst Les Paul through the Mesa Boogie Mark 1 ( for his solos) back in 72 through the summer of 74.
when will he get hes house back then..that day you'll be welcome..
Ответить( some unnecessary comments here, attempting to falsely compare... ez now ).
ОтветитьJohn reminds me of Miles Davis, when he would perform live in his later concerts. He was all over the place on stage, often giving his back to the audience.
ОтветитьIts amazing how pianists don't lose the fluidity in their fingers, but most guitarists do, sad but true 😢
ОтветитьWe are all brothers just latin blood!!!!
ОтветитьOMG the space JM makes as soon as his solo space opens up
ОтветитьThe BEST dueling guitars ever?
ОтветитьTAhanks -very close to GOD
ОтветитьMAGNIFICENT!!!!!!!!!!!😁👍
ОтветитьYou may say Santana is not a virtuoso of the Guitar and many other guitar players are much better than him but to me he is one of the few that really transmits feelings through his instrument, moreover, and this is what makes the artist, his style is unique and can be recognized miles away, cheeeeers and let us go into the house of the Lord, already these two great guys are taking us over there with such great tunes...
Ответить😃🏵️🌱💛
