The Mersey Express - Widnes Steam Train - Earl of Mount Edgcumbe - 1st June 2024

Whenever I cross the Mersey Gateway Bridge, I always eyed up the view over the curving viaduct with the Silver Jubilee Bridge in the background. With Vintage Trains 'The Mersey Express' hauled by Great Western 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe running on Saturday 1st June 2024, I took this opportunity to capture a shot here in Widnes, on the outbound Tyseley to Liverpool Lime Street service shortly after crossing the River Mersey.

With the train in the distance and coasting, all the noise in the recording was traffic noise, so I make no apologies for dubbing over audio from Clun Castle departing Chester back in March 2022.
