ОтветитьOn this day in Music - 27 Oct 1973
Gladys Knight and the Pips started a two week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with 'Midnight Train To Georgia'. It was the group's 18th Top 40 hit and first No.1. The record won the 1974 Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance By A Duo, Group Or Chorus and has become Knight's signature song.
What epic bass like wow
ОтветитьI performed this tune in front of the packed crowd in the Wynyard Arms public house in Billingham.
An old boyfriend and his new girlfriend sat their with faces like slapped arses as she fancied herself as a bit of a singer too.
A local lad, lead singer in his own band came over to me and said , "Good grief (or words to that effect) that song was a bit wordy wasn't it? I must say you have an interesting microphone technique though." 🙂
Not really.
I was just avoiding my massive intake of breath being picked up by the mike that's all.
