Special car indeed. No I wouldn't think first of Oldsmobile making supercars like that.
ОтветитьI've seen one or two videos about it before. It's such a cool car from a company you wouldn't expect it to be made by.
Ответить2 liter turbo from GM making 1,000 HP???
ОтветитьI wouldn’t mind seeing this car appearing as a DLC vehicle in GTSport or Forza/Horizon.
ОтветитьYou should get this for your next model car
ОтветитьThis may be the must beautiful car I've seen ... Those curves look so smooth those wheels that are similar to the XJ220 .. and it's a car must people don't even know about ( I didn't know this existed until know ) . this a great addition to the unsung heroes series !
ОтветитьPerhaps it's time for 80's-90'- Le Mans cars that had potential, like Allard J2X-C...
ОтветитьIt's making as much power from a 2l i4 as the LMP1s are now, and this is from the 80s. This takes Unsung to a new level
ОтветитьI believe cars like this will become more valuable in the future one should definitely invest in such a vehicle
From a designer standpoint I've always been impressed with this car
She has a very nice look
ОтветитьProud to have been one of the mechanics as well as one of the primary drivers of the 1992 Aerotech which set 47 World and International Land Speed records. I’ll never forget this epic once in a lifetime opportunity.
ОтветитьThis is fascinating
Ответитьthe rear looks like a speedtail
ОтветитьGoing back through old unsung heroes videos makes me so happy. Seeing someone who shares a love for these incredible, quirky, interesting but forgotten cars just makes me feel so good. I've always wanted to make a racing game and this series has given me so many more cars to add to the list. If you see this comment, I appreciate this series so much. Thank you for sharing the best of what we might not know about.
ОтветитьI had the Matchbox model as a child and had no idea about its records until today. Amazing!
ОтветитьI always thought this car would be an interesting rival for the Mazda Furai.... If the Aerotech was converted to an GTP car😁
ОтветитьI had one of these as a hot wheels car as a kid in the late 80's early 90's. Loved it, I was always mesmerized by the shape. Never seen a real one in person, I didn't even realize any were sold, I thought it was just a concept car for marketing.
ОтветитьBeautiful and amazing ! unfortunately a car not many people know about.
ОтветитьMy dads friend owns this car
ОтветитьWhat Oldsmobile never disclosed (afaik) is that one of the Aerotrechs hit a deer going somewhere around 170-200mph on the track. I actually saw video of it and the deer was literally vaporized. Car was so we'll built that the driver actually survived with just minor injuries.
ОтветитьOldsmobile was doing great things in the '80s and '90s. Oldsmobile Aurora won the TransAm championship I think two years in a row. Too bad GM shut them down.
ОтветитьI would like to see you do a video on the 1990 ZR-1 Corvette, powered by the Lotus designed LT5, built bt Mercury Marine. A bone stock LT5 Set the 24 hour world speed endurance record for a mass produced production car in 1990. It also set the 5k mile and 5k km top speed records as well. They still stand 31 years later.
I remember when the Quad 4 engine came out, and the AeroTec machine setting those records, I was and still is a beautifully designed machine, it looks fast sitting still. Well done.
Love your work, always interesting cars. 👍👍🏁🏁
There are very few cars I haven’t heard off but this is one them, thank you so much for bringing it to my attention, it’s incredible and beautiful and every time I see a car I don’t know existed (that is not often) I feel like an excited kid. Love it!
ОтветитьFunny thing, i discovered this car looking at go karts when i saw the aerotech go kart i wanted to see the real car and i was blown away by its performance and even more by the specs
ОтветитьI used to sit in this car when I was kid.
ОтветитьFavorite car of all time. If I had 3.5MM I would have bought it.
Ответитьoldsmobile was known as the most innovative of GM's devisions., just think about it and you'll see.
Ответить431km: quad 4 2.3 engine?
ОтветитьYes very good no mention of the - well secret of why or how it did it other than the obvious - the concept designer , palm spring ca. 78
ОтветитьI've always maintained that very fast cars don't need big motors. As you go faster, like, above 140 k/h, aerodynamics becomes increasingly important; and above 180+, they are the dominant factor. (Lotus has been proving this for years)
ОтветитьArrow smith
ОтветитьDude this suuuuch a GORGEOUS looking car.
ОтветитьWhen GM subsidaries had some autonomy in the 80's, they were doing some amazing things. Then Chevrolet came down with an iron fist and put an end to all of it.
ОтветитьThey were 2.0l in the Aerotek, production version for 2.3l.
