There is just something so unnerving about being trapped in a closed off area that seems big, but no matter where you go it's just repeating, identical rooms and halls that have barely any furniture in them, and not to mention, a creepy entity that doesn't seem to do or interact with anything, but just follows you slowly and silently, it knows that eventually it's going to catch up to you, and there's no use running. The absence of natural light also adds to the feeling of being trapped.

The void of the sky box, the entity that always seems to know where you are... Oh, the horrors of unfinished indie games lol

I you want it to make it more creepy, you could add more lines then just laughing, add mist, broken down school vibe, kinda like silent hill that sorta stuff

that might sounds harsh but this is exactly why Saiko No Sutoka is a great game compared to others cheap (and sometimes AA and AAA) horror games.

When you play Saiko No Sutoka you get a glimpse of what a particularly advanced enemy IA is compared to hostile IA that just run at you and follow predetermined patterns like this game.
In Saiko No Sutoka, the enemy A.I. will make extra efforts to deceive you, anticipate your path, and trap you into rigged paths (saiko slowly stalking you in a always and making you forget to check for a tripware and the like).
