And that’s why the Wii won that era of consoles. It was the only one that truly stayed consistent throughout its lifespan
ОтветитьOutro song goes hard 👍🏾
ОтветитьI avoided the red ring... now I know how. . My 360 just stayed on... never cooled down...
ОтветитьPs4:im 399 and you don’t need any Internet connection to run games except for updates and downloads, but I am completely functional
Xbox one: I am 499 and I require a consistent Internet connection and you must have your Xbox camera all time so we could see you don’t like to deal with it
Ps1: i’m proud of you, son
Xbox:you disappointed me,son
You can probably add at least 5 new mistakes these muppets at Microsoft have made over the last 2 years.
ОтветитьMicrosoft is the winner. They have consoles and pc's.
ОтветитьPutting the RROD above the Xbone is weird to me. There were enough people who stuck with them that if the Xbone had just been a newer and more powerful console with better quality construction, they'd have been fine. But the mess of what they tried to make the Xbone is what did them in.
ОтветитьA ship mate of mine defended the “always online feature” when Xbox One was announced.
We were stationed on a submarine, and he couldn’t process people who would be in scenarios where they couldn’t or didn’t have internet.
Games for Windows Live has been a massive pain in my ass when ive tried to play Lost Planet 2
ОтветитьJuust to point out, One of the reasons I loved PlayStation WAS BECAUSE IT DID NOT REQUIRE YOU TO PAY TO USE THE INTERNET. Everybody I knew thought it was ridiculous. Xbox made you pay to use multiplayer and sony was free. Also a major problem not touched on here was the lack of security. People were having their xbox accounts hacked left and right. I went through 2 accounts after I tried xbox 360 online. Then just sold my 360 to someone else. Gave up. I appreciate Gaming Historian also does SOn'y 3 biggest mistakes to be fair.
ОтветитьI think one mistake tops all these. Microsoft didn't study the japanese market or consult with local experts before designing the xbox. Moreover Bill Gate's initial announcement in Japan didn't go over well at all because of cultural issues. The bungled launch of the OG xbox in Japan continues to haunt MS to this day, as they have never pierced the lucrative Japanese market (one of their original goals)
ОтветитьIt’s funny cuz I also had four different Xbox 360s from the start. Preordered the first one and got it when they first came out in 2005. Moved to Korea (military reasons) and 2 months later, red ring. Sent that in, waited a month for it to return, 2 weeks later, red ring. Sent it in again, waited a month, came back, had it soft modded (Koreans were quick to mod the console), then red ring happened. Had to demod it, sent it in and when I got it the fourth time, it wasn’t even the same one anymore. Totally new SN on it 😂. Left it unmodded just in case. Worked fine the rest of the time until the new version came out and purchased that one.
ОтветитьI remember a store named game crazy if you bought a refurbished xbox360 and it broke within 90 days they'd give you another. I went through like 4...
ОтветитьI had the "red ring of death" and sad to say, I haven't purchased an Xbox since! It is sad because from what I understand the series X is an overall better console and gamepass sounds great! But, I got a PS5 and there isn't much room to complain. The thing is solid as a rock and it's always on - never a single issue. It's wild to see how badly things can go when a company is mismanaged. They had the console wars in the bag! The PS3 was a bummer and Sony hemogeny leaves little to be desired, but... -red ring of death-
Xbox 360s RROD is the most infamous hardware failure and the PS3 PSN hack is the most infamous cyber attack.
ОтветитьTalk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Truth be told, Xbox 360 started floundering as soon as they ditched their core fan base to chase after the motion control fad. Kinect marked the decline of Xbox and it has been sliding ever since. I would be shocked if Microsoft still made consoles in 10 years.
I had one of the launch versions of the 360, and it failed less than a year after buying it. Because the Warranty was only 90 days, I had to pay $150 for them to fix it. Not only that, the disc drive failed only months later.
WOW Microsoft really made so many mistakes! One of them was buying RareWare & taking them away from Nintendo. The only reason they did that was so they could steal the Donkey Kong license from Nintendo because RareWare worked on the Donkey Kong Country games. According to Chris Seavor, the man behind Conker’s Bad Fur Day & the man who voiced Conker as well as Peppy Hare & Slippy Toad in StarFox Adventures, said that before RareWare was purchased by Microsoft, executives from the company visited RareWare & saw Donkey Kong posters everywhere. Which made them think RareWare owned Donkey Kong. And if that wasn’t enough Microsoft did something even more evil & stupid by offering to buy Nintendo before they released the GameCube so they would stop making Nintendo consoles & strictly make Xbox games! This of course was laughed at by Nintendo executives & Microsoft is still my least favorite game company which is why I don’t buy Xbox consoles. But yeah the Xbox one announcement & Red Ring of Death were the biggest mistakes they made ever.
ОтветитьI remember when my 360 Elite got the Red Ring of Death and Microsoft got my replacement Elite SUPER FAST! They got it to me in 3 -4 days.
I loved my 360! I do miss it.
Fortunately we have a product for people who aren't able to get some form of connectivity, it's called Xbox 360.
- Don Mattrick E3 2013
Microsoft's 11 biggest mistakes with Xbox brand in no order:
1. Online gameplay was FREE on both Sony's PS3 and Nintendo's Wii + Wii U + 3DS.
2. Xbox One's original "always online" demand was an instant OFF for seemingly the whole video game market, and the way it was forced made people make there decision righ-away.
3. Xbox 360's "Red Ring of Death" was a major costly error and a PR disaster. Yet they bounced back and was in some regions world-wide a generation winner. Still a launch disaster...
4. Xbox One marketing was making the console being promoted as a TV device more then a dedicated gaming system = killed the audience interest and combined with "always online demand at same time + locked games to ONE USER resulted in a complete walk-over for gamers to walk to Sony and go with the PS4.
5. Lost an entire generation of console war before it even began.
7. Bought two of the BIGGEST 3rd party houses in the world with Bethesda and then Activision-Blizzard...and have dined NOTHING AT ALL with all that, but fired skilled developers and studios. Those combined with there 2004 purchase of Rare Ltd. have all been hogging tons of loved gaming I. P's but really don't use them or announced serious plans.
8. Microsoft's serious lack of branding there Xbox consoles after Xbox 360. One? And now Series X or Series S? Just the identity was that Xbox One's PRO model was "Xbox One X" - This lack of a clear naming just confused the casual public and worse the younger audience could not describe to friends or family what they either had, or wanted (!)
9. Since One, Microsoft have invested in few exclusive game titles - making there consoles stand there with arguably the best hardware, but getting buried by both Sony and Nintendo in exclusive game titles both 1st, 2nd and 3rd party wise. They have given little to non motivation for customers to invest there hard-earned money on their console(s).
10. Putting all there cards on Gaming passes - a monthly subscription to access a library and online gaming that works only as long the subscription is paid. You cannot access any games otherwise and if Microsoft pulls that game off the table? You are striked out of playing that game you wanted to play altogheter and there is no telling if it ever gets back online.
11. Everything online ONLY and own NOTHING.
i'd say the xbox one was the worst thing. I had a 360 basically from launch, by the time i got red ring it was a known issue so it was not unexpected and the slim was selling for like $99 at the time.
ОтветитьI used to play dawn of war 2 on games for windows. Also a few games on a Nokia Lumia. Added a few 1000 to my game score.
ОтветитьXbone is microsoft's biggest mistake😂
ОтветитьIt should be noted that the Red Ring of Death-Issue was as much Nvidias Failure that it was Microsofts. Nvidia manufactured the GPUs which caused the issue. Also what people often forget: the PS3 hat it's Yellow Light of Death - basicly the same problem, the only difference is that Sony never acknoledged the problem while ms did the right thing. Ohhh and who manufacted the fault gpus that caused the PS3's YLOD? Nvidia!
ОтветитьI'd like to see a documentary on MadCatz and their devices. Mainly the R.A.T. line up of mice, and the N64 3rd party controllers.
Ответить3. "games for windows" was great since you know your getting a xbox 360 controller support on the windows pc, but most of the developer are too lazy to program the xbox 360 controller right.
2. they f*** by forcing drm and that "always online" requirement along with the kinect that eavesdrop on it's users for the xbox one.
1. the xbox 360 has no built in surge protector like sony and nintendo console do and scratches discs when tilted left or right on it's side.
It's easy to tell that Sony Computer Entertainment scrambled to remove the PlayStation Camera from the PS4 SKU after the Xbox One backlash.
The DualShock 4 controller features a light bar that has no use other than to be detected by the camera, and the camera-based mini-game The Playroom comes pre-installed with the console and can't be uninstalled in any way.
Microsoft learned that greed is the most expensive of the 7 deadly sins. Being greedy ultimately costs you more money than you can make.
ОтветитьReally wish Microsuck WOULD get out of consoles....they're trash and have never done that well :L I will not let them off for the bs they did with the 360 towards Square Enix.
ОтветитьWe missed your videos😢
ОтветитьYou should try Konami,Atari and Capcom
ОтветитьI loved Xbox 360! But with the “always online “ and no game sharing “! I passed and bought a ps4! I finally got a Xbox in 2014 Christmas!
ОтветитьThe Xbox 360 had problems! But it was an awesome console! Had so many great games! And there online services and chat was 2nd to none!
ОтветитьI had a Xbox 360 get the red ring of death! At the time we had like 4 or more Xbox 360 in our home! So I put it in my closet! It sat for 10 months! So one day I came across it! So I decided to try it out! Hooked it up and it worked! It still works to this day! No problem s! I wounded if Microsoft did this on purpose
ОтветитьXbox fucked yo by removing the feature were you can download ur cds into the hard drive
ОтветитьIt's good to be a PlayStation owner and a Linux OS user 😊
ОтветитьThese aren’t mistakes, they’re people not letting things go.
ОтветитьThis video will be updated lol!
ОтветитьSteam was at least cool enough to refund me on Fallout 3...
Ответитьlol the number one mistake was giving 20 million dollars to Steve Jobs in order to keep apple afloat so they wouldn’t face a monopoly lawsuit.
ОтветитьXbox One did something great in making it backwards compatible with Xbox and Xbox 360 games. Not only backward compatible but actually improved the games resolution. They can't get enough credit for this considering Playstation threw backwards compatibility out the window.
ОтветитьYou could easily do an "Atari's Top 10 Mistakes"
ОтветитьThe way I look at this is the typical --- I'm gonna highlight 1 mistake you did vs all the things you did right. Can you highlight all the right moves and accomplishments MS did? Because if you can't, this is just pure MS hatred. Same goes to us as human. If we can't do that, we're hypocritical.
ОтветитьThe RRoD issue made complete sense if you had been a consumer of Mictosofts products because they were infamous for giving consumers poorly designed and tested products. It did shut up the sycophants who always defended Microsoft by citing thar they had no control over the hardware their software ran on. Now here they did control the hardware and it barely worked. It took them 4 years to update the hardware to resolve this issue be cause corporate culture endorsed bugs.
ОтветитьRemove rge background music please.
ОтветитьI’ll be honest everything else is a mole hill compared to the Xbox one stuff. That 1 presentation almost killed the brand. And over a decade later it still hasn’t recovered.
Ответитьfor me the biggest mistake was Microsoft charging for xbox live as in the long term that's hurt consoles and why more people than ever game on PC as people are getting sick and tired of every service going to a subscription model for little to no extra game to the end user.
ОтветитьAtari next? Would love to hear your suggestions. Thanks!
