This is an excellent lesson Sandra. It was good to go back over some theory and then put it all together!
ОтветитьThanks for your great input Sandra. I have one question about the minor7 grip. Why doesn’t jazz guitarists just barre the entire fret with the index and mute the a string or add the 5th? So at the same time u have more flexibility with the pinky to add the 9 or 13. I started to handle the maj7 like u, but to me that results into lacking mobility. Before that I made a barre and used the middlefinger for the 7th ringfinger for the 3rd and pinky for the 5th or for the lower strings. Im an autodidact guitarist but I’d like to tread the guitar like the pros, like you and understand why one should take that grip and avoid the other grip. Thanks in advance
ОтветитьTeacher, for the E string dominant 7 chord, would you recommend the one with thumb on bass e string or the one with index finger on bass e string? for practice
ОтветитьGerman accent?
ОтветитьI'm not english but you speak slowly and I can follow. Have you done the same for the 6th the 9th and the 11th ? I will appreciate. TY very much already for this. New suscriber with a big thumb !

ОтветитьHello Sandra, you re amazing. I learn it so easy, your tutorial is so great.I wish you good health and more tutorials to follow, god bless you.
ОтветитьHi Sandra, I have been playing guitar since 1968 (mostly finger style acoustic and some blues/rock with a bit of Celtic thrown in every now and then) but am a complete beginner when it comes to jazz. I just want to complement you on your lessons. They are clear, articulate and easy to follow. Thank you so very much for putting these lessons out for us all to benefit.
ОтветитьCool teacher ❤
ОтветитьI have been playing for 43 years and I pick up great things from your videos.
ОтветитьTed Greene's Chord Chemistry (most important jazz chord book) talks about noticing "chord synonyms". I noticed the Cmaj7 is also am Em/C chord.
You're a great teacher. Thank you!
Much...Love......Ive played mostly blues...which involves a lot of 7th..n 9ths....but You are really helping me understand..more advanced voicings.... TY...Michael from Jacksonville IL.
