I think I finally figured out what he forgot to mention. When doing the Copying and Duplication and removing the fx, you have to make sure the the layer you removed the fx from is the layer showing in the front view. Doing the duplication the way he states doesn't work as simply as he made it seem. He jumps around but that may be why a lot of you are not seeing the logo. So check your duplication order.

Also, once again in all my infinite wisdom have figured something else out. If you .pngs are importing in pixelated, change the Composition Settings Resolution to FULL.

i was able to make the logo 3d. the y rotation on the null object is working but the logo itself is not rotating with the null object

unfortunately its not working at all for me.... I followed alll your steps, can see the logo, but after making new Camera and null object, the Logo is turned and the play button does nothing....

If your logo is turning into a black box after duplicating it loads of times, go to composition settings and click the 3D renderer tab. Make sure your renderer is set to 'classic 3D' instead of cinema 4d. This worked for me.
