FOR PETER FROM KATIA

WE NEED MORE CANADIAN IMMIGRANTS? Seriously…What for??????
Despite our exhaustive immigration selection process for the “highly trained”; educated and experienced immigrants face twice higher unemployment than Canadian-born. Among those employed in 2018, 61% of the Canadian-born were employed in their professional field compared to only 26% of foreign-educated immigrants. DO WE HAVE A SYSTEM IN PLACE TO REDUCE THESE NUMBERS?
The unemployment/underemployment of skilled immigrants in Canada costs over $30 billion of our taxes each and every year. Who wants to pay more taxes unnecessarily?

Hundreds of thousands of MORE CANADIAN IMMIGRANTS WILL ONLY SERVE TO SURGE THE CANADIAN UNEMPLOYMENT RATE.

Despite the unemployment rate exacerbated by the pandemic, anticipated gaps in the Canadian workforce triggered by worker shortages resulting from an aging population and the fact that Canadians have fewer children have contributed to the Canadian government’s decision to increase the number of immigrants entering Canadian soil.
is it really what Canada needs???? Are we seeking to increase unemployment????????
DO WE NEED MORE EXTENSIVELY TRAINED IMMIGRANTS DOING YEARS OF VOLUNTEER WORK IN ORDER TO GET CANADIAN EXPERIENCE AND THEN MOST OFTEN, THE EMPLOYMENT OFFERED IS FAR BELOW THE SKILL LEVEL TO WHICH THEY HAVE BEEN TRAINED AND FOR WHICH THEY ARE EXPERIENCED?

It is a fact that the immigration selection process ascertains that those who make Canada their new home are better educated, are highly experienced and marketable in their chosen professional field, however, what difference does this make when these mature older individuals are forced to occupy the same positions as teens without experience or a high school diploma or those who dropped out?

Motivated by workers’ shortages in several professions including medical, and engineering; the federal government plans on adding thousands of new Canadian immigrants because employers are purportedly having difficulties filling skilled positions while the facts remain that it takes a minimum of 10 years for a Canadian immigrant to get hired in his/her chosen field following landing.

Indeed, acceptance of immigrants demonstrates compassion and leadership boosts trade ties between Canada and the world, strengthens culture and diversity, enhances Canada’s global standing, while fostering all these wonderful sounding effects mentioned on the governments’ websites; IN REALITY, it depends on which immigrant and what some have to give up when they touch our soil. Immigrants most often face the harsh reality of the inability to apply their significant academic training, education, and professional experience towards meaningful employment in Canada

I can provide you a list of immigrants right here in Toronto, many of which are experienced surgeons, psychologists, a pediatrician, a gynecologist, two nutritionists, 11 nurses, 7 engineers, a university professor, all sought assistance from Rhema in order to increase their odds of finding employment in their field at the level that matches their skills and qualifications. They were only offered never-ending volunteer work. These are the most recent ones I can recall who resorted to taking survival jobs and give up on their professions. The demands to help immigrants become licensed to work in Canada following their arrival keep growing while some organizations that were dedicated to assisting them were forced to close their doors because of lack of funding from the same government that recruited the newer Canadians.

While Canada was anticipated to be the land of immense opportunities, one of the surgeons works at a gas station, 4 of the nurses resorted to starting home daycares, one of them, home cleaning, the psychologist is doing industrial cleaning jobs and he has another part time customer service job, the pediatrician is still flipping burgers at a restaurant, one of the engineers is moving furniture, a second one is delivering pizza and the recent news updated him working for Uber, the third one was a phone telemarketing rep trying to promote PC credit cards, one of the nutritionists who resorted to starting an online blog indicated that he could have done this in his country, without having to sell his home in order to immigrate into Canada, the university professor is driving a cab, his buddy cab driver, was a bank executive back home and his brother, an anesthesiologist, the father of a large young family, along with his wife who is also an ER nurse, they have been cleaning businesses for the previous 5 ½ years to make ends meet.

It turned out that what is said on paper about Canada’s needs for skilled workers, is only on paper. It seldom transfers to reality. Sadly, Canada fails each time that the skilled worker fulfilments scenario does not materialize.

We have repeatedly observed this in some provinces where there are a concentrated amount of intolerants employers who even in 2017, have still not embraced Immigration Canada’s “good Samaritan concept”, as they are quite unwelcoming to the arrival of a “new kid on the block”, while they securely guard their skilled positions for Canadians-without-an-accent, those with “Canadian experience” as well as those who possess professional Canadian networks, despite the fact that their “accent”, experience and network were duly approved by immigration officials prior to their being provided permanent residency. Are we all not successful when they are successful?

Our mission was to assist in lessening these persistent challenges, weakening intolerance in the community, utilizing our community partners to providing immigrants with a one-stop-shop for the professional network, offering free programs assisting them with their confidence level, showcasing their talents, removing obstacles to meaningful employment, assisting them in becoming licensed to work in what they have been extensively trained and experienced to perform prior to their selection for immigration and placing them in front of prospective employers and connecting talents with opportunities. We did not receive the necessary funding.

Pediatrician Khalili Nasrabadi said this: “One of the hardest parts of flipping burgers at McDonald’s is hearing news of rural Albertans desperate for family doctors”

Liguria Reyes reflected: “I’m being told: Go back to your country. How ironic! If I return to my country where I am well-known, it will be an absolute shame. I sold my practice in order to immigrate here”

It's good that they aim to follow other provinces in inviting immigrants since they go by their own policies. People have a higher chance of success. 😌🍁

More immigrants more targets set since the begining of the year we are hearing those changes invitation for migrants to come to Canada thats very good but why are the Canadian government and immigration not helping those who are already here in Canadawhere all process for PR have been done and they are waiting for a long time to get the PR and yet they still have backlogs.
Im in BC since 2016 and still truck driver my BCPNPwas a long process as the scores were 80 at some point of time but when it came to 75 i was left with less than 6 months on work permit my PR application was sent on 28 th March 2020 covid period and i had to pay for extesion of my work permit which im still stuck with the same company till ill get my PR i had to pay more money for the visa extension of my family too but what ive learned recently is that the immigration are processing only online applications instead of the paper mailed applications which means we dont know when we will get our PR .

I have been trying to obtain employment and PR in Canada since 2016. I even hired a lawyer and still nothing.
I have even tried applying through the Canadian job bank also to companies web site nothing not even a return email or a follow up phone call.

My son is studying in Winnipeg Manitoba. No job's because after the interview they would just say I'm sorry but you don't have any Canadian experience. How can one get any Canadian experience if companies are not willing to hire someone without any Canadian work experience.
