what do the "modes" do on the calculator. For example, in order for me to get the correct answer to: Cos(50), I had to reset the calculator to get rid of whatever "mode" it was on.

when i tryout your example for squaring 27 my symbol comes up as a box and the squareroot symbol.when I press shift and when I don't press it

there is a much easier way to do the cube root of 27 press shift press the cube root type in 27 =3
