The hand spray bidet connected to the toilet is brilliant in cases of diarrhoea and cloth diaper pads, no more sore butts, great for rinsing out sick bowls or plastic, or a small rubbish tidy for the sick room. We installed the simple, cheap hand spray just for my husband and myself, when there was toilet paper shortages during the Pandemic.

Mind we live in the tropics so cold water's not an issue. I keep a stack of face washers in the toilet. So I can either blot with toilet paper or a face washer but have a container to put used ones in, next to the toilet. I suffer from migraines and prior to medications, a sick container next to my bed was essential. If only I had known just how handy a spray bidet was, we would have put one in as soon as they came out on the market. Sick children and adults are so much easier to cope with, especially if anyone has a weak stomach.

Thank you so much for this post. I don't have any little ones yet, but I'm making baby clothes for new and young moms. I wanted to make cloth diapers to save that much more money for them, but I don't know the best features or how they clean, to make the best option for them.

I bought some washable and some disposable liners im not entirely sure which will work better baby isnt due till december so i might trial them on my nephew when i babysit him (sis doesnt care what i do) i bought about 20 pocket diapers with about 50 or so liners in a variety of fabrics and im going to get some flats aswell im not sure how many though, might start with a pack of 6 bamboo/hemp and 6 plain cotton

The 2 bamboo inserts with the pocket diaper seems to work for us overnight

I tried cloth before but couldn't stay committed. I really want to give it another go. I have a 3yr old that wears a pull up at night plus a 2 yr old that isn't potty trained yet. I am almost 26 weeks pregnant with my 5th baby. It is expensive to keep buying diapers and wipes for multiple babies. Also with the formula and TP shortage we had during covid and the rise of prices I feel like going cloth diaper and wipes we will never be without in that department.

How many cloth diapers do you need for all the so you don't have to buy more?

Hot/cold generally means the washer will use hot water during wash portion of cycle but will use cold water during the rinse portion

You can get a cheap bidet from Home Depot that you can use as a diaper sprayer

Great video mama, but just FYI I did corn starch on my son and it was awful bc my son had a yeast infection and the sugars in the corn "fed" the yeast and made it worse.

Don’t forget to test your water hardness. Your wash routine will depend on how hard your water is.

The hot/cold means it washes in hot and rinses in cold.. heat sets stains though, so you’ve gotten lucky that they’ve lasted!

How did you deal with family members I'm planning on getting pregnant the end of this year and a friend on Facebook was getting rid of a big bundle of nappies newborn and the bigger ones along with a bucket and oils ect. And only wanted £90 for the lot my family found out and and my brother is very opinionated about how its disgusting and that someone else's kids will of used them and that it's basically abuse, I've worked out if I have two kids like I plan to I will save around £990 just on nappies if they use them up till 2 years and when I said this he said I will give you £1000 for nappies if you don't do this its wrong,other than that I really like the idea of them and that they are better for baby and making less waste, but I've been feeling really down as other family members are agreeing with him and making comments about how I'm already parenting wring and I'm not even pregnant yet xx

I have received about 65 hand me down diapers and am trying to select which ones to use (as there are 8 different types). I like the Rumparooz as they seem very well made and have rave reviews. However I notice they are fleece lined, which in my opinion is against the idea of cloth diapering (using natural fibers). Have you played around with using reusable natural liners?

I realize this video is 2 years old. but! I was wondering what the consensus is, for using Natures Miracle, to get rid of enzymes?
I have two dogs I have been using it with, the older dog is incontinent in the night so I soak her sheets/bed in it and then put it in the wash, my younger pup had accidents and it worked really well to get rid of lingering smell and stain.
I wish I had Natures Miracle when our older dog decided to be tough and bark at the skunk, we both got sprayed, and the side of our house.
It supposed to be safe, but I was wondering if anyone had experience with this?

i love this video <3 Expecting my first child and I knew long before after lots of research that I want to cloth diaper because of environment and it is also much better for the babys bum and skin. Very informative and we will save a lot of money on diapering this and our future children <3

I’m the opposite- I prefer to use prefolds on a newborn as you would go through a lot of them, they are easy to wash, and you don’t have to worry about covers either - our ancestors didn’t have any of these modern technology and did well! :)

New dad here. Maybe I haven’t scrolled down far enough in the comments, but am wondering about washing the diapers in the same load as other clothes. Newborn and breastfed currently, but welcome any wisdom of best practices as our baby’s poo changes.
